Fulci post #7: The Psychic I had the idea to write a giallo-inspired comic using the rhythm of its panels in place of the privileged role the score often plays in the genre. This drawing attempts to capture the fluidity and cinematic pacing of Frizzi's unique soundtrack.

Lizard in a Woman's Skin is compelling because of thedisparity between its fantastical heights of beauty, and its transgressive depths of brutality. Its impact has a lot to do with Fulci's composition of these 2 scenes: the ethereal psychedelic murder, and its sober aftermath.

Conquest stands apart from much of Fulci's catalog, but the movie's inability to find a comfortable place in the euro exploitation canon is what helps define it as quintessentially Fulci to me, and I know I'm not the only one who returns to it again and again.
