Just when I think, "Has there ever been a bigger waste of money than the $212 million Elon Musk spent on trying to get Ken Paxton elected as Texas senator?" I'm reminded of the $92.5 million the Toronto Blue Jays spent on Anthony Santander.

It's clearly the signature hole, but the best all-around par-3 is the 207-yd 3rd—all-carry across the edge of a deep arroyo on the right with fantastic views of the canyon and mountains beyond. "How unusual that the signature hole is No. 3," I thought...before seeing No. 17.

Patrick Stewart once found himself joking with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr about being three knights at the same table. No grand speech, no performance. Just a moment of shared laughter. A long career leaves behind more than great roles. It leaves moments people remember.
This is just Emrata letting Conan accuse her of flirting, acting completely innocent, then gently roasting him for getting flustered. She was in control the entire time.

Legendary.
Fox: Why are you here this morning? Trump rally attendee: Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.

As eerie a coincidence as there has ever been. Among his other prophecies, Poe also conceived the Big Bang 80 years before physicists did in his poem, Eureka. A lot of freaky stuff from a wordsmith who regularly freaked out his readers.
In 1838, Edgar Allan Poe wrote a story about four men stranded at sea who became so desperate for food that they decided one of them had to die. He gave the unfortunate victim a name. Richard Parker. Forty-six years later, something happened in the Atlantic Ocean that bore an almost unbelievable resemblance to Poe's fictional story. On July 5, 1884, a British yacht called the Mignonette was sailing toward Australia when a massive wave struck the vessel roughly 1,600 miles from the Cape of Good Hope. The yacht sank within minutes, leaving its four crew members adrift in a small open lifeboat. They had almost nothing to eat or drink. Captain Thomas Dudley, first mate Edwin Stephens, sailor Edmund Brooks, and 17-year-old cabin boy Richard Parker survived on two small tins of turnips, a turtle they managed to catch, and whatever rainwater they could collect. After nearly three weeks at sea, their supplies were gone. Parker had become seriously ill after drinking seawater and was lying helpless in the boat. The men began discussing whether one of them should be sacrificed so the others could survive. Brooks refused to participate, but Dudley and Stephens eventually decided to kill Parker. On July 25, they took the boy's life and used his body for food. Four days later, a passing German vessel rescued the three surviving men. When they returned to England, Dudley and Stephens were charged with murder. Their case became one of the most famous legal decisions in British history, establishing that necessity was not a defense for killing an innocent person simply to survive. Both men were sentenced to death, although their sentences were later commuted to six months in prison. The similarities to Poe's novel were so striking that a Dublin newspaper discussed them in December 1884, while the murder case was still attracting attention. Poe had been dead for 35 years, and there's no evidence of any connection between his fictional character and the real Richard Parker. Yet somehow, 46 years before a 17-year-old boy lost his life at sea, Edgar Allan Poe had written almost the same tragedy and given his fictional victim the exact same name. What are the odds of that?

Noah Wyle says Eddie Murphy told him to “fuck off” when he asked for an autograph at 9. “I met Eddie Murphy once when I was a kid. I asked him for his autograph, and I said, ‘I really like you on SNL.’ He goes, ‘What are you doing up that late?’ And I said, ‘Can I have your autograph?’ He goes, ‘Fuck off, man.’” “I was 9. Now I always sign an autograph whenever a 9-year-old needs one. I sign that so fast.” Years later, his daughter turned the story into a birthday gift. “I’ve told this story in my house, and last year for my birthday, my 10-year-old daughter didn’t know what to get me. So she printed up a picture of Eddie Murphy and wrote, ‘Dear Noah, you’re a great kid, Eddie Murphy.’ She spelled Eddie E-d-d-y, and I have it framed in my office.” “She came up with the story. She’s like, ‘Dad, you’re never gonna believe who I saw yesterday. Eddie Murphy. And we got what you’ve always wanted, his autograph.’ Then they gave me the gifts. She’s a doll. She’s the best.”

If Hoekstra were to accuse Canada of stealing alien technology from Area 51, it would be no more absurd than his accusations of Canadian interference in US elections.
