😡 @Anitha_TDP @naralokesh

Chennai gets its name from Chennappa Nayaka, a #Telugu ruler of the Kalahasti Nayaks. His son, Damarla Ayyappa Nayaka, founded #Chennai, naming it after his father & later leased the land to the British to build a trading post, which grew into the modern metropolis we know today.

Madurai Nayaks, a #Telugu Nayaka dynasty, ruled most of present-day Tamil Nadu from their capital at Madurai for over 200 years. Nearly 80–90% of the magnificent #MeenakshiTemple complex seen today was built & expanded under their rule & patronage in the 16th–17th centuries.🛕

DYK?💡 #LaxmanRekha is absent in Valmiki’s #Ramayana & 16th cent. Ramcharitmanas. It first appeared in the 13th cent. 'Ranganatha Ramayanamu', the earliest #Telugu retelling off the epic, written by Gona Budda Reddy. It eventually became a defining element of the epic.

🚨 In 1957, Nagasamy Naidu was running a small paan shop in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, when his family’s biryani recipe laid the foundation for a restaurant business named ‘Dindugul Thalappakatti’. Nearly seven decades later, Dindigul Thalappakatti has grown into a restaurant chain with over 100 outlets and created a Rs 1,000 crore business.

Why isn’t this one of India’s most talked-about coastal landscapes? This is Gangavaram Beach, near Visakhapatnam. Not the conventional image of a tropical beach. No rows of swaying coconut palms or picture-postcard scenery. Instead, towering rocky cliffs & a rugged, almost prehistoric beauty. Frankly, I find this kind of raw beauty even more compelling. It’s the sort of place that invites you not just to relax, but to reflect. And there’s an interesting irony here… The world’s technology giants are arriving in Vizag to build hyperscale data centres & AI infrastructure. But judging by these photographs, nature got into the hyperscaling business here millions of years ago! Vizag is clearly on its way to becoming a major technology hub. But I suspect it also has the potential to become one of India’s most sought-after coastal leisure destinations. Clearly, there's more than one kind of spectacular growth story unfolding in Vizag… #SundayWanderer (Pics courtesy @IndiaAesthetica The colours may have been enhanced a bit, but I suspect the landscape itself will not disappoint)

The fact that they got their name from the Dravidian word ōdu, meaning run away, makes sense.
Lion doesn't accept challenge of jackal. Defeating a jackal neither adds anything to his glory not he enjoys it. He will enjoy jackal whining more and more instead

🚨 Andhra Pradesh to proceed with panchayat elections in three disputed Kotia villages, citing past polls and the 1968 Supreme Court status quo order. Odisha plans to revive its pending Supreme Court contempt proceedings against AP over the long-standing territorial dispute. KOTIA STORY: Kotia is a group of 28 border villages in the Eastern Ghats at the centre of a long-standing territorial dispute between Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Both states claim 21 of these villages, provide welfare benefits to residents and compete for administrative control. The vast majority of the 5,500 residents reportedly avoid choosing sides, as the dispute allows them to access benefits from both states. Some residents reportedly hold voter IDs, Aadhaar cards and ration cards from both states.
