Promotion and Relegation is coming to America! ⚽️🇺🇸 The United Soccer League (USL) have launched a new brand where they will install a promotion and relegation system in the men’s pathway starting in 2028. ⬆️⬇️ • Division I: USL Premier • Division II: USL Championship • Division III: USL League One

A new look for USL as the USA gets closer to promotion and relegation. We will find out which system works in the USA for ⚽️ A closed system like MLS (we see this in NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) or an open system with pro/rel like USL and around the world. Pro/Rel coming to USL in 2028.

Promotion / Relegation soccer is finally coming to America Starting January of next year, the USL will start its first season with a pyramid structure between its 3 leagues, USL Premier (Division One), USL Championship (Division Two), and USL League One (Division Three), allowing the best performing teams to move their way up in place of teams that finish at the bottom of the league above them Exciting, no doubt about it. A lot of risk being taken here by those involved, but it should be interesting at the very least to see how the stakes at hand impact the product on the field and the excitement level of each match

USL have unveiled their new branding today. I quite like it. Thoughts?
