Following Elon Musk’s first-ever reply in Korean, and then a quote from Tom Zhu, today the official Tesla account quoted my post as well. Tesla Asia had also featured one of my posts before.
I’m just one very small voice living in Seoul, South Korea. The fact that someone like me can communicate with Elon Musk and Tesla still feels incredibly special, and I’m truly grateful for it.
Tesla is a company that listens to and respects even the smallest voices.
I sincerely hope Tesla continues to grow even bigger and reaches even more people around the world.

Elon Musk responded with “Interesting” to an analysis of a potential Tesla–SpaceX merger.
Brett Winton of ARK Invest suggested that a roughly 30% acquisition premium for Tesla shares could equalize the expected benefits for both shareholder groups by 2031.
However, looking ahead to 2036, his analysis suggests that Tesla would need to be acquired at approximately a 50% discount to balance the expected benefits.
According to ARK's model, the estimated value of a merger compared to remaining separate would be:
By 2031
- Tesla shareholders: ~1.6x
- SpaceX shareholders: ~2x
By 2036
- Tesla shareholders: ~5x
- SpaceX shareholders: ~1.3x
The analysis suggests that Tesla shareholders could benefit significantly more from the merger over the long term.
However, these figures are projections based on ARK's proprietary model, and no final merger terms have been established.
On May 23, 2025, Rocket Lab underwent a holding company restructuring that changed its stock identification number. Korean investors were treated as if they had sold their shares at $25.42 per share and repurchased them, even though they never actually sold their shares. As a result, they faced capital gains taxes.
This is exactly what Korean Tesla investors are worried about.
If the same thing happens during a Tesla–SpaceX merger, I would also face a massive capital gains tax bill.
Even if Tesla and SpaceX merge, I sincerely hope shareholders won't be forced to pay capital gains taxes on shares they never actually sold.
