When athletes are put in competitive activities within practice periods coaches get a better evaluation of players.
Better athletes understand drills and skill must transfer to sport.

My daughter, who is 9 said this today " I jumped 4'7 out of no where in the high jump at Junior Olympics in Des Moines Iowa.
I said no you didn't , we prepared your body to jump high by jumping higher in practice with the assistance of the jump box.
Guys take advantage of every opportunity. Sometimes you might think you are not ready to handle the load, but you are.
You will never be 100% ready to take on new things. Face those challenges head on and learn in the process. It will be hard, but it will make you better and rewarding.
