Ok so with Steam Next Fest ending I have to share my favorite thing that happened. Pocket Racer Shop Sim peaked concurrent players at 11 (I know isn't much but I'll take it). During this time I decided to jump on and see if there was any public lobbies available. Sure enough there was one with 2 players and I thought what the hell and jumped in. After joining I see a cool little bustling shop with 1 player running product to replenish shelves and the other working the cash register. As I walk in you see both of them immediately stop and turn to look at me like "Who hell are you?". I emote and wave and then go into the staff area to help run product out to shelves. Then I run a couple races against shoppers and one of the players before taking off. This was such a surreal experience knowing all my years of gaming how cool it was to have the dev join the server and here I am all these years later getting to be the dev joining their server. Do they even know it was me? No, I don't have any indicators but it didn't stop putting a huge smile on my face seeing them enjoy the game I have been crafting for over a year and half. Later one of them joined my discord and said "if that was you that just joined our game, soory for being weiirrddd" and I couldn't help but laugh. I later joined back up with their game to play some more and chatted for a bit in discord with them. This by far has been one of the coolest game dev moments for me and incredibly rewarding. #indiedev #gamedev #indiegame
