Oh, I guess Twitter doesn't link two posts well. The link I shared in the beginning is Steve sharing a blog, (which he comments on in the QT)

I wrote a thing on Zero Trust! After reading official guides, I found the core concept is a lot simpler than you'd expect. The challenge (as is common) is around implementing it. indent.com/blog/zero-trust-n… Shout out to @Tailscale @TwingateHQ @HashiCorp @smallsteplabs

Best part of stuff like Helm, GitHub Codespace, and etc is the generated name. Today I got Potential Pancake.

Yep. This is part of the success of Discord, and other semi-private social media platforms IMO
Honestly, I think people are tired of the information war and want to do something else. It's exhausting being angry and hopeless all the time for a decade. "Something else" might be on the internet, but it's not, like, the metaverse. It's better, probably smaller communities.
Remember the Fyre Festival? That dude made it a rule that people had to come to him with solutions, not problems. It's a big part of the reason Fyre Festival was such a shit show.

It's also true that people who only criticize, and never actually invest in a solution themselves, can be a drain. Criticism is valuable, even if it's something that some jerks occasionally abuse.

I just got a deposit check from NetApp. I haven't worked for NetApp for 2+ years.

"Why isn't the answer to just learn every layer of the stack??" πŸ˜‚ Cracking up at @brentsimoneaux asking this to @JPhilippine and @ScooterPhoenix on a Compiler podcast.

To be clear, I think a lot of current Devs (who are difficult to work with) act like this is actually possible. Glad yall tackled it on the show, and the answer was along the lines of, "you can always learn more, but you can never learn it all."

Americans perplexed over football games ending in β€œties” (draws) are going to freak out when they learn cricket games can end in ties AND draws and they are two completely different things.
I buried one of my brothers this weekend, Adam Solomon. He was the easy-going soul of my very best friends, guys I've known since 1st grade, who to this day are like brothers to me. He got me into lifting a decade ago. He was at the gym, doing what he loved, when he died.

When you create content and put yourself out on the internet, you need to accept that your stuff won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Keep doing your thing and focus on those that enjoy it.

Crypto is going bust? I hope so. The faster it burns, the fewer get caught in the flames.
Sequoia invested in a $420m round in FTX at a $25B valuation in October 2021 and a consortium with Paradigm invested $400M at $32B in January 2022. And now it's selling in a fire sale? This is a truly crazy event in startup world. Dot-com bust level event

A classic, "if the product is free, you are the product" on Twitter. Musk is going to mine user data with zero thought to ethics, or unintended side effects.
With Twitter's change in ownership last week, I'm probably in the clear to talk about the most unethical thing I was asked to build while working at Twitter. 🧡
