I think a lot of people need talk therapy. This sounds like clinical depression to me.
"If somebody talks about a movie near me I will not watch it."

Beyond that, that doc exists! It’s not even obscure! It was a major HBO/Alex Gibney doc!
Why do people want this to be like some sort of informative piece of reporting on the facts lol. Why would Nathan Fielder ever do that, and why would anyone do that on something already extensively investigated and reported on, for that matter

you see a contrarian take on You Can See Everything from a blue check and 80% of the time you read their bio and it turns out they work in tech. really illuminating.

is “the art of documentary filmmaking” not kind of sort of actively being bastardized by netflix, paramount, disney, and whoever else pretty much every single day with whatever True Crime Doc of the Day they release
Replying to @AkilahObviously
I cannot articulate why it feels fascist to destroy the art of documentary filmmaking. Another institution that kinda wasn’t a problem. Partially think it should’ve been a reality show??

Admittedly, haven’t had a chance to see YCSE yet. But, Nathan’s work has often been about drawing attention to and playing with the tension of subjective art vs objective truth that exists in ALL documentaries.

This is pretty film school 101 stuff, but no documentary offers objective truth. The second you start making choices about what to include and exclude in the edit, it becomes the filmmaker’s subjective interpretation or argument.

hot new tv takes: Finished Below, solid but slight. Solid performances, doesn’t become more than the sum of its parts, but I had fun with it. Crystal Lake pilot, on the other hand…

Why would you pick anyone here other than Olivia Wilde
These four women all invite you to their place for dinner. Who's house are you going to?
