How can you yell at your travel baseball catcher for being lazy when this is what he gets to watch on TV during the World Series ?

Kids and MLB players are the same. MLB guys are just bigger.

How to Take a Lead from 1st
Japanese base-stealers across NPB are consistent in how they get out to 12-feet: right foot toward second, cross in front left, square up right, cross behind left, square up right again. Same measured steps every time, consistent across NPB.

From high school and down, the kids that pitch on a dirt mound generally have to deal with an uncomfortable hole that predetermines where pitches will be able to put their foot. Same goes for the landing sport for their front foot.
So, weird question, but why don’t more pitchers utilize the ENTIRE rubber. I don’t think people realize the angles you can create just by moving over 12-14 inches so that you reach the other side of the rubber. If I have a 24in pitcher’s plate(the rubber) and I adjust every two inches, I can essentially create 12 different angles to throw from

This is basically how @TheDavidWeck teaches running
i'm not saying it's going to happen or work but somewhere, in some high school, an ambitious and quirky track coach is going to try and if it does work we will look back on these videos as the move 37 of biomechanics

Hmmm
Reading a lefty, from Eduardo Pérez — passed down from Lou Brock: Key on his left foot, the one on the rubber. Toes lift at the start? He's coming to first. Toes stay down? He's going home. Eduardo's advice? One foot tells you everything.⚾

🚨Coming tomorrow🚨 We thought we'd heard the last new words from Ted Williams, that we'd never have more to learn from the Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived. We were wrong.

Only applicable to varsity and up, when players have completed puberty.
Ted Williams explaining why sometimes taking a pitch is more important than swinging at it More players today should listen to one of the greatest hitters ever

This is why those pop time numbers have gotten so much faster.
Why our sliding lane on steals is to the back corner.

How is he sliding without an oven mitt on his hand? Won’t he get hurt?!?!?
1/3: Rickey Henderson slid later than others. Not a coincidence — physics. The moment you hit the dirt, friction kills speed. Staying on your feet longer keeps you at full speed deeper toward the bag. Watch Rickey's slide point vs. others'.
