SORRY IF THIS OFFENDS LANDLORDS, BUT I'M DONE. I just paid $2,000 in rent for an apartment I've lived in for three years, kept clean, maintained, and never missed a payment on. Then my landlord emailed me a renewal notice saying my rent was going up another $300 a month. ABSOLUTELY NOT. You collect $24,000 a year from me, build equity with the money I pay you, and then raise my rent because the market says you can. I'm the one paying every month, but I'm building absolutely nothing for myself. If I'm paying enough to cover your mortgage and then some, give me the option to put part of that money toward ownership. Stop treating reliable tenants like ATMs you can increase the price on every twelve months.

TLDR my opinion is that tipping should be completely optional as the customer and employers shouldn’t force (maybe too strong of a word?) customers to cover the majority of wait staffs pay. A good number of other countries do it like that so why can’t we?
