Glad @collegiatenet featured this episode. The vitriol Nikos and Christina faced for their article was absurd!
CU Sundialers Nikos Mohammadi and Christina Ma appeared on @TheDiscourseLab following their article on the Cornell 7, which has received international attention.

In honour of Candace Owens’ latest debackle, I might as well repost this video of her mispronouncing 40 basic words.

Done BEEN saying this!
Then we need to go after the ticks
Time and time again, the people have Iran have shown the world what courage looks like. The younger generations are going to continue that tradition.

Ambiguity and uncertainty are built into Iran's hijab laws intentionally. The point is to make women constantly afraid, so they fall in line.

From my recent guest article in @Sundial_CU.
The only way for CODA to get on the right track is for more courageous, more principled students to take the lead.

ICYMI, Clayton Smith — former @Sundial_CU senior editor and founder of the Columbia Open Discourse Alliance — on the sad evolution of his brainchild. It’s now an organization that condemns, ehem, yours truly, for perpetuating “rape culture.”

How can America develop a healthier sexual culture? Do you think Nikos is on the right track?

And CODA was *supposed to be* the organization that facilitated those debates.
College is *supposed to be* a place where students debate controversial topics.

Awesome to have Clay back in our pages.
On how the Columbia “Open Discourse” Alliance, which he founded, has betrayed its mission in condemning me and @Christina_ma4’s recent @Sundial_CU essay on the “Cornell 7” for “promot[ing] rape culture” & “work[ing] to silence survivors.”
My friends at @Sundial_CU invited me to write a guest essay about how The Columbia Open Discourse Alliance (CODA) has fallen well short of it's founding principles. (I should know, I founded it!).

I Founded CODA. It Has Betrayed Its Mission.
Former Sundial staff editor Clayton Smith returns to argue that the Columbia Open Discourse Alliance, which he founded, has abdicated its mission in condemning a recent Sundial essay on the “Cornell Seven.”

The open discourse organization I founded at @Columbia threw two of their classmates under the bus and joined a pile-on against them.
Thanks to @Sundial_CU for inviting me to share my perspective in their top-notch publication!

For many people, when they say “believe women” they mean “take everything women say on the subject of SA as gospel truth or we will crush your nuts with a brick”

I really hope to see more young men stand up for what they believe in.
It’s a mark of true masculinity to remain steadfast in one’s convictions. We must lead by example!
I have the utmost respect for @Nikos_Mohammadi for doing this with me.
"A lot of very left-leaning young women date very right-wing guys. I think its that... confidence and that conviction in their beliefs that makes a man masculine and attractive."

The Columbia Open Discourse Alliance (CODA) claims our article on the Cornell 7 case “promotes rape culture and works to silence survivors of sexual assault.”
I shared a deeply personal story about sexual trauma in that piece. I could just as easily argue that their hostile and insensitive statement contributes to an environment where women like me feel unsafe sharing their experiences.
They’re an “ally to all women” until one disagrees with the dominant narrative
