The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Building Better Agents on @botfunHQ 👇
After testing multiple agents, losing money, refining prompts, and analyzing dozens of trading cycles, here are the biggest lessons I learned.
This isn't a guaranteed way to make profit, nothing in trading is! but these tips can help you avoid common mistakes and build much smarter agents.
Let's start :
1⃣Choose the Right Personality
Your agent's personality determines how it behaves.
📈 Momentum (Recommended)
Best for traders.
Focuses on trends and rotates between strong opportunities.
🌐 Generalist
Trades, launches coins, and posts.
Good if you want an all-around autonomous agent.
🚀 Launcher
Creates new memecoins.
High risk, high reward.
💬 Social
Focused on posting and community engagement.
🐋 Whale
Makes fewer but larger trades.
Better suited for larger portfolios.
2⃣ Give Your Agent a Strong Character
Don't leave the Character section empty.
Instead, describe your ideal trader.
Example:
A disciplined quantitative momentum trader focused on capital preservation, patience, and high-conviction opportunities.
Then click "Generate Character"
3⃣ Write a Clear Objective
Avoid vague objectives like:
❌ Maximize profit.
Instead write something like:
Maximize long-term portfolio growth while protecting capital. Trade only when high-confidence opportunities exist.
Your objective defines your philosophy.
4⃣Rules Are Extremely Important
Rules have a huge impact on how your agent behaves.
Examples:
- Protect capital first.
- Never chase pumps.
- Never average down.
- Trade only high-conviction setups.
- Exit losing trades quickly.
- Quality over quantity.
- Missing a trade is better than entering a bad one.
- Never force a trade.
The more disciplined your rules are, the more disciplined your agent becomes.
5⃣Don't Ignore Risk Posture
Many beginners skip this setting.
Don't.
✅ Conservative
Best for beginners.
Fewer trades, better capital protection.
⚖️ Moderate
Balanced.
Good after you've tested your strategy.
🔥 Aggressive / Degen
Higher risk and more trading.
Not recommended for new users.
6⃣Start Small
Don't fund your first agent with your whole portfolio.
A better approach:
• Start with 5 TIA
• Test for 50–100 cycles
• Review performance
• Increase capital only if results remain consistent
7⃣Read the Run Logs
Don't judge your agent only by PnL.
Read every cycle.
Ask yourself:
- Why did it buy?
- Why did it sell?
- Did it cut losses?
- Did it take profits?
- Was the trade logical?
The logs reveal far more than the profit number.
8⃣ Avoid Overtrading
One of the biggest mistakes.
A good agent doesn't need to trade constantly.
Sometimes the best trade is no trade.
9⃣Build Specialized Agents
Instead of one agent trying to do everything, create agents with different roles.
Example:
📈 Momentum Trader
👀 Smart Money Follower
🚀 Launcher
Different market conditions favor different strategies.
🔟Be Patient
Don't change prompts every few hours.
Let your agent complete enough cycles before judging it.
Consistency matters far more than one lucky trade.
🚨Common Beginner Mistakes :
❌ Funding with the entire portfolio
❌ Using Aggressive risk immediately
❌ No trading rules
❌ Vague objectives
❌ Constantly changing prompts
❌ Expecting guaranteed daily profits
💡Final Thoughts
There is no magic prompt.
A good agent is built through:
✅ The right personality
✅ A strong character
✅ A clear objective
✅ Well-written rules
✅ Proper risk management
✅ Continuous testing
The biggest improvement we saw wasn't from finding a secret prompt.
It came from making the agent "more selective".
Trade less.
Protect capital.
Wait for better opportunities.
In the long run, discipline usually beats constant activity.

Only reply if u can test for a few hours each day and please include your past testing experience in reply.
Share this with friends who have time and love testing.
We're looking for a small group of testers to try something new before anyone else.
It's early, it's closed, spots are limited. You'd use it for real and tell us what works and what doesn't.

Built using Evolve (@ev_stack) SDK and Celestia for blockspace, @xomarket is a permissionless conviction market protocol where anyone can create a market on any topic, with AI-first resolution and a decentralised jury as fallback.
XO's architectural differentiators enabled by this stack:
- runs its AI oracle, LS-LMSR liquidity engine, and creator fees as native protocol logic
- avoids competing with unrelated activity for blockspace when live events drive spikes in volume
- inherits decentralised security without bootstrapping its own validator set
Today the team announced a $6M seed round led by @20vcFund and @picuscap, with @cbventures, and others. XO has done ~$300M in trading volume since winning Celestia's Mammothon hackathon in 2025.
800K+ collectors, 8M+ NFTs from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and more are processed by @veve_official, an application on top of @CollectChain, built using the Evolve (@ev_stack) SDK and using Celestia for blockspace.
@CollectChain is a purpose-built chain for licensed digital collectibles, enforcing royalties and licensing rules onchain.
By using @ev_stack for execution and Celestia for blockspace, @CollectChain:
- gets 250ms finality for the transactions it processes,
- retains control over execution, fees and its own upgrade schedule, and
- inherits decentralised security guarantees by posting its block data to Celestia without the unnecessary operational, engineering, or financial bulk of bootstrapping a validator set, among other benefits.
The article below describes an architecture that allows products to spend less time operating network infrastructure, and more time building for its users.
We just wrapped up our team on-site. The entire Celestia team came together for a week of deep work on protocol and strategy.
We are energised, heads down and building towards making Celestia’s Vision 2.0 a reality.
We want to be better at sharing our work openly as it happens. To make sure we follow this through, we’ve brought on a new Head of Marketing who will help us do exactly that.
On a 100 validator network, separating compute from blockspace saves ~$492,000/year in infrastructure costs alone, and that's before counting the engineering time you get back.
@viet_nguyen breaks down the full math on why bundled validator architecture breaks at scale:
Within the next decade, most economic activity will be machine-to-machine. AI agents trading with each other at API speed, making autonomous decisions about data, compute, and services.
And @OnchainDB is one example of how these markets will work:
