An interesting LoTR analysis I heard today was that Denethor, who was an intelligent and capable figure (in the books), got too blackpilled by the time he spent gazing into the Palantir. Sauron showed him Mordor's armies, the Black Fleet sailing up the Anduin, and collapse at every front, all of which was true but still carefully chosen, and this caused him such despair that it led to his mental collapse at a pivotal moment, almost dragging his kingdom down with him.
On the opposite end, you had Samwise Gamgee who remained the ever hope-pilled hero, despite trekking into literal hell. After facing many ordeals, with worse still ahead, he never lost hope in a return journey, even rationing food for it. His stubborn refusal to abandon Frodo helped them to overcome the darkest of odds and save the world.
It may be fiction, but I think there's actually a good lesson for the right in there.
Protests are now just a way for the ultimately impotent youth to LARP as la Résistance™. They're really only an excuse for a big social gathering, with an added veneer of self-importance.
🇩🇪 Gen Z protests have reached Germany — thousands of young people took to the streets on Halloween
In Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, young protesters are demanding better education and social policies.
So far, everything has remained peaceful — although boutique owners boarded up their shop windows the day before, fearing riots similar to those in Paris.

You can tell Sellner primarily produces content to indulge an American audience because he's still posting low-IQ bottlecap slop to "dunk" on the EU.

See rightoids, that's how you do a coup. You just do it. No mile long rants on Twitter, no gayopps, no pressers, no memes. You just say it and do it. This is why you will always lose.

‼️ A COUP IS HAPPENING IN POLAND 🇵🇱
Poland's Constitutional Tribunal is being subjected to an extraordinary takeover operation by pro-EU Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Its official website has been taken over, an announcement has appeared removing its president and vice-president from their duties, and police have been deployed around the institution.
The Tribunal's existing leadership has declared the operation illegal and accused those responsible of committing a coup d'état.
The Constitutional Tribunal is the institution responsible for reviewing whether laws comply with the Constitution. It is broadly comparable to the constitutional-review function of the United States Supreme Court.
Today, its website announced that President Bogdan Święczkowski and Vice-President Bartłomiej Sochański had been suspended for one month.
The person now claiming authority over Poland's Constitutional Tribunal is Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, elected to the Tribunal by Donald Tusk's parliamentary majority in March 2026.
But there is a fundamental legal problem: she has never taken her judicial oath before the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki.
Under Article 4 of the Act on the Status of Constitutional Tribunal Judges, newly elected judges must take their oath before the President of the Republic.
Nawrocki refused to receive her oath. Instead, on April 9, Korwin-Piotrowska participated in an alternative swearing-in ceremony organised inside the Polish Parliament, without the President's presence or participation.
The Presidential Chancellery explicitly declared that this procedure had no legal basis and could not confer judicial authority. The existing leadership of the Constitutional Tribunal maintains that she is therefore not legally a judge of the institution.
And now, a woman whose authority to serve as a constitutional judge is rejected by the President and the Tribunal's existing leadership is being presented as the person entitled to take control of the entire court.
Poland's Constitution does not give the prime minister or his government the power to dismiss the Constitutional Tribunal's leadership.
Article 194 establishes the Tribunal's composition and the procedure for appointing its president. Article 195 guarantees the independence of its judges.
The announcement of a suspension relies on Article 130 of the law governing ORDINARY COURTS. Invoking this article to suspend the leadership of the Constitutional Tribunal is a legally indefensible distortion of the law, revealing a staggering disregard for elementary constitutional principles.
HOW DID POLAND GET HERE?
Donald Tusk returned to power in December 2023, promising to reverse the judicial reforms introduced under the conservative Law and Justice government.
Those reforms had been fiercely opposed by the European Commission, which initiated rule-of-law proceedings against Poland and linked access to European funding to judicial conditions.
Tusk's government subsequently presented Brussels with a programme for restructuring the judiciary, including the Constitutional Tribunal. The European Commission welcomed that programme and ended its Article 7 proceedings against Poland in 2024.
The methods used by the EU and its supporters undermine the very constitutional principles they claim to restore.
President Karol Nawrocki has reportedly interrupted his journey to Senegal to return to Poland.

Don’t you get it?
The UK, like most of Europe, is not a democracy but a bureaucracy. Your unelected civil servants have more power than your MPs. You will only change that when you get rid of your loser mentality and realise you can actually shove things down the throat of judges and bureaucrats, especially if the people voted for it (and yes, Tusk’s campaign promises were exactly what he’s doing right now).
But sure, keep thinking that “due process” is going to save you…

I’m pretty sure it will change nothing in the political direction in Poland. So if people like it for left/right political reasons, it’s irrelevant IMO. I like it because it sets a precedent. You can actually go down the constitutional court and get the judges to gtfo… nothing can stop you if you have a parliamentary majority.
Regardless of your opinion of Tusk, his move on the constitutional tribunal was incredibly based.
Politics is unfair, and the left recognises this. The left understands power and thus they wield it. It's why it's a left-liberal world we live in. The right can stick to the politcal speed limit and follow the rules originally set out by the left to entrench themselves, or we can exercise power and win. Crying "foul" gets you nowhere and the right should have realised this a long time ago.
The only difference between politicians that get what they want done (e.g. Tusk, Magyar, and Sánchez), and those seething on the limp-wristed right is will.

Was ja based ist.

Every country should have a law protecting children from being given stupid names by tasteless parents.
In this case the baby has gone unregistered for over a month because the parents are insisting the child have a made up name that "coincidentally" happens to be shared by the father's company.
