We hope critical incidents DON'T occur, but when they inevitably do, Troopers deserve the time necessary to process and protect their mental health. Thank you to sponsors @PatBurke142 and @SenatorCooney for championing this important legislation. tinyurl.com/mpe9hpt2

Troop K paused for a moment of silence at SP Cortlandt this a.m. to remember & reflect on our friend and brother, SC/Sgt. Nigel K Barnett, who was killed in a motorcycle accident one year ago today. Barnett's fellow troopers gathered together to honor him in front of his station.

On this solemn day, we pause to honor the 2,977 individuals who lost their lives on that fateful day. We will never forget. We pay special tribute to the 42 Troopers who made the ultimate sacrifice through the illnesses they contracted during response and recovery efforts. #9/11

Ahead of the High Holidays, the NYSTPBA president and board received an important briefing from union PBA Chaplain Rabbi Abe Friedman on safety and security concerns. The State Police will provide additional coverage to ensure a safe and peaceful holiday season for everyone.

One of the busiest travel weekends of the year is here. Struck-by incidents are a top cause of death in law enforcement. No Troopers were hurt in this accident - thankfully. Follow the law: MOVE OVER one full lane from stopped vehicles in the road or on the shoulder. #safetyfirst

Remembering those who bravely rushed into danger on 9/11 when others were headed in the opposite direction and paid the ultimate price as a result. These names were read aloud last week on the National Mall. #Wewillneverforget odmp.org/

ICYMI: Billboards in Albany & Buffalo remind the governor to keep her promise, protect the mental health of Troopers who protect NYers with a 1st-in-the-nation critical incident leave policy. We welcome its inclusion in the #SOTS and look forward to seeing it in the exec budget.

On 11/19, Troop K NYSTPBA hosted the 1st annual Turkey Bowl in memory of SC/SGT Nigel Barnett. The Zone 3 team, captained by Trooper Thomas Colucci, from SP Cortlandt - which Barnett commanded when he died - won. A good time was had by all. Let's make it a tradition. #neverforget

On this #VeteransDay, let's honor those who served while also addressing the recruitment & retention crisis facing the New York State Police.

Currently, troopers involved in a critical incident can ask for just 3 days off at the superintendent's discretion. That's just 72 hours to recover and process. @GovKathyHochul protect the men & women who protect you. Sign the CI bill into law TODAY. shorturl.at/lVbmn
