🚨Arkansas, in all sincerity, this is a lie. The truth is @hallieshoffner just forced a nonprofit for adults with developmental disabilities to relocate a meeting so their clients wouldn’t be exposed to a political protest. She has embarrassed herself and our community. Here’s what actually happened today: MARVA Workshop (Mid-Arkansas River Valley Abilities Workshop) had a working meeting with the U.S. Department of Labor to discuss services, jobs, and support for the adults with developmental disabilities they serve. Senator Tom Cotton helped make the meeting happen. This was not a campaign event. Shoffner was likely tipped off and showed up with protesters at the same time and place as this meeting. However, MARVA staff learned of this plot in advance and moved the meeting to a more secure location specifically so their staff and the adults in their care wouldn’t be put in the middle of a campaign protest. Despite Hallie’s best efforts to disrupt the event, the meeting still happened as planned. A productive discussion took place that was focused on supporting vulnerable members of our community. While Cotton was doing the actual work of a senator, the Shoffner campaign turned it into a circus and forced a nonprofit to scramble to protect the people they serve. Hallie, you owe this community, especially MARVA Workshop, a huge apology for this embarrassing behavior.
