The Rising Point. We play to experience joy and expand abilities. We teach to guide exploration and inspire growth.

Based on two realities, 1) how the ball is manipulated and 2) the scoring mechanism, football requires and rewards nuances of execution that many completely ignore in favor of a fantasy in which pure speed and/or strength somehow trump the universal principles of the sport. #UCL

Don’t play on autopilot! If you are constantly waiting for instructions from your coach, teammates, or parents…it’s probably too late in most situations because the game moves TOO fast to talk through every moment.

Trust between teammates isn’t just built on passes—it’s built on the moments off the ball, when you run for each other without needing the reward.
Conversations on whether or not Lamine Yamal is “arrogant” are so fascinating and instructive of how certain narratives take hold. What if he is “arrogant”? So what? And who gets to decide? Why does it matter? What should he be like? Who gets to be “arrogant”? #UCL #FCBarcelona
It’s tryout time at many 🇺🇸 youth ⚽️ clubs! For players, say 10 years old and up, who want to know how to stand out, here’s a (unoriginal + important) thought:
