Andy Harris tried to have a Gold Star father arrested for asking him a question, falsely claiming heโd threatened to kill a staffer. That claim was ridiculous and unfounded, and it went nowhere. Andy Harris just hates to be questioned. You can read more about it on the website of Andy Harrisโs favorite publication, the Baltimore Banner.
That father is Michael McDowell, a world-renowned expert on peace and conflict resolution. His son, Marine 1st Lt. Hugh Connor McDowell, was killed in a 2019 training accident. Since losing Connor, Michael has been working with Congress and the Pentagon to fix the kinds of safety failures that took his sonโs life, and Andy Harris has ignored him.
Andy Harris has also ignored repeated requests to support the bipartisan Love Lives On Act, which would let surviving military spouses remarry without losing their benefits.
As Susan Flanagan said, Andy Harris sure doesnโt care about our military families.
Our Gold Star families deserve better. Dan will fight for them.
