🏰 Bannerman Castle, reimagined in The Sims FreePlay! For this build, I wanted to bring a little piece of New York history to NYSims. 🗽 Located on Pollepel Island in the Hudson River, the real Bannerman Castle was built in the early 1900s by Francis Bannerman VI. Despite its romantic castle appearance, much of the complex was actually created as an arsenal and storage facility, with towers, battlements and medieval-inspired details gradually transforming it into one of New York’s most unusual landmarks. Today, much of the original structure survives only as dramatic ruins. So instead of recreating Bannerman Castle exactly as it looks today, I decided to imagine something different: What if the castle had been fully restored? My NYSims version imagines Bannerman Castle brought back to life as an exclusive historic retreat, part preserved landmark, part luxurious private-island stay. Because the only island lot in The Sims FreePlay gives me just 18x18 squares to build on, reproducing the original complex was impossible. So I focused on its architectural DNA: the imposing height, cylindrical towers, battlements, arched openings, irregular levels, climbing ivy and that wonderfully eccentric castle silhouette.
