let me tell you why saas is not dead and how deep in the rabbit hole we are on x ⬖ my wife is technical enough, worked as QA before, understands the concepts of cloud, hosting, frontend vs backend, etc etc. ⬖ she has 2 subs to copen ai and claude, uses them on desktop and on mobile ⬖ she has heard me rambling about ai for 4 years non stop and knows most terms ⬖ she has vibed a few websites for fun and is a creative person overall so i see she subscribed (recurring lol) to a "learn driving tests" app i asked her wtf why dont u vibe yourself one?? it will be even better, more visual, tailored to you, etc etc. she was like "uhm but why, someone already put all the effort and i just wanna be done with my driving tests" now think about the people who have NONE OF THE bulletpoints above lmfao 💀 put a price tag and just put the saas in the bag lil bro no one is vibecoding shit

I love how xAI just rolled out in EU and will just deal with fallout if it comes. Neither OAI nor Meta has the guts.. 🤣

The constant decel messaging in Europe is insufferable as an adult, but its effect on kids is worse. As a parent, it's your obligation to counterprogram this nonsense. Show them robots, rockets, and wonders of AI. Show them cathedrals and moon landings. Instill hope in progress.

So basically @DHH came to the Rails World and told them that Ruby on Rails is no longer needed now because AI can make apps in any languages. That's the funniest thing that could've happened.
Clearly, this @DHH Rails World 2026 keynote has become an instant classic. youtube.com/watch?v=V9SxpJpH… Highlights: - WebApps are dead since it is so cheap, easy, and fast to build native apps with agentic coding. - No need for a framework like Ruby on Rails if you can achieve the same functionality with e.g. Rust on the backend while saving a lot of money by reducing the number of needed servers and having a faster application. - Your application needs a CLI. Because agents love command-line tools.

That was software engineers in 2024. We went from “no way a language model can code, it can’t reason and the context window is only 4k” to total disbelief. We went through the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance. Most are still somewhere in that process because humans are terrible at understanding exponentials. Uber drivers in San Francisco are now saying the same thing: “There’s no reason Waymo should deploy this fast.” But that’s progress. It’s deeply uncomfortable, and it will keep accelerating. Every other field will have this realization sooner or later and it will be terrifying.
Mathematician Terence Tao: "we have to slow down AI. the pace is insane, and there's no reason to be this fast — no reason at all" It's amazing how willing we are to change everything without any idea what happens afterward These are extremely nonlinear dynamics
