If anyone fancies a tasty snack, today I learned that there's a mushroom called Aleuria Aurantia (more commonly known as Orange Peel Fungus).
It's 1) weirdly beautiful and 2) apparently edible. The smell is described as "pleasantly mushroomy".
ALT A photograph of the Orange Peel Fungus, named for looking like discard orange peel. It grows in clay or disturbed soil. In the photo, it's surrounded by stones and grass, looking beautiful and delicious.
