Ok. So, I can’t do a handstand and also simultaneously do the splits. 🙄 BUT, I can do this (for a little added encouragement for the markets and China) #pftour22

Corn export inspections are coming back down to the reality of post-rally demand, the weekly volume hitting the lowest levels in exactly two years.
Soybean inspections are still weak for the week historically, but less so when compared with USDA's forecast.

It's been a tough couple of weeks for corn, and the grain markets are at a bit of a deciding point.
In this week's #ProfitPlanning recap, @TheTedSpread covers what two back to back bearish USDA reports mean for the balance sheet and what producers should be watching as attention shifts to South American weather.

USDA confirms the sale of 470,000 metric tons (17.3 million bushels) of U.S. soybeans for delivery to China in 2026/27.

🇺🇸 2026/27 U.S. soybean export sales have shown real promise early on, but shipments aren't quite painting the same optimistic picture.
Export inspections should be on their seasonal climb in early October, especially with China back in the mix. Something to watch.

Initial report thoughts on corn:
It was a surprise. Corn stocks came in well above expectations and above the high end of the range of guesses. This happened even with last year’s corn crop being revised marginally (57 million bushels) lower.
Quarterly disappearance (demand) came in well below our expectations and only 100 million bushels above the same quarter last year. 4th quarter implied usage did not beat the 2024 record like most analysts had assumed based on the USDA’s balance sheet.
Of note, on farm corn stocks are at a 4-year low which, combined with a smaller harvest than originally expected, could mean less producer selling pressure as we go through harvest.
However, large speculators were near record long going into this report and given the negative price action they could take the place of the natural seller (producers).

🌽 Sept. 1 U.S. corn stocks are notoriously hard to predict, landing outside the range of pre-report trade estimates in 7 of the last 10 years.
2026 is included in that tally, with stocks coming in 177 mbu above the trade average and 90 mbu above the highest estimate.

🌾U.S. farmers in 2026 harvested their smallest wheat crop since 1970, according to USDA.
Winter wheat production landed above all pre-report trade estimates, though it was still the lowest since 1965. Spring wheat output landed below all estimates, at a five-year low.
