Mullins was considered for tonight. Would expect him to play vs. Purdue next week, barring setbacks.

Landrew is relentless getting to the rim whether it’s off the dribble or on the glass. Really impressive physicality and still has room to get stronger/bouncier.

FINAL: UConn 83, Texas 61
The Huskies outscored the Longhorns by 22 in the second half. Strong (27 points) and Popovic (22 points) were spectacular, while Shade (11 points) had a good day, too.
With the caveat it's early preseason, Texas only gave up 80+ points once last season

Offense hasn't been a problem for the Huskies against Vic Schaefer's defense. Five different players have scored, led by Popovic with eight points.
They've had some trouble with Texas' press and have six turnovers so far.

First media timeout: UConn 11, Texas 8
The Huskies are getting pretty good shots so far. They're 3-4 from deep, which certainly helps. Jovana Popovic continues to impress and hasn't blinked when given an open look at the basket.

The Huskies score a hard-fought win.

HALF: UConn 38, Syracuse 29
Ashlynn Shade has been everywhere tonight. She's crashed the offensive glass better than anyone, been active on defense and played with noticeable energy.
Jana El Alfy has taken a pair of 3s (both misses). Entering today, she had 4 career attempts.

Sarah Strong looks more decisive and assertive, Jovana Popovic fits right in and Morgan Cheli returned to the court after missing all of last season.

Incoming Uconn freshman Egor Amosov may be the most highly anticipated freshman in the country for me. Amosov comes in ranked #14 in my freshman projection model after posting dominant performances in Spain's Liga U and the Adidas Next Gen tournament.
While minutes in the Uconn wing room should be scarce, Amosov's connective playmaking and impact on the glass should provide a path to early playing time. And with a well-rounded skillset and impressive positional size, any consistent opportunity should place Amosov firmly in the one and done conversation.
