26 YEARS AGO TODAY! β¨ βIβve always wanted to do a show with women of different generations, backgrounds and views,β the late Barbara Walters said on our first show on August 11, 1997.
Thank you to our loyal viewers for joining us every morning β see you soon for season 27!

So very sad to hear of Bill Geddieβs passing. I never had the privilege of working with him, but I knew of him as a brilliant producer & TV man. My prayers are with his family, loved ones, & the View team as we mourn his passing.
Rest in peace Bill Geddie π Thinking of Billβs family and our friends at @TheView during this difficult time.

Itβs with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of βThe Viewβ co-creator and one of televisionβs most well-respected producers, Bill Geddie.

We are saddened by the sudden death of Bill Geddie.
As a producer, he kept us together and was very loyal to his staff. Bill loved comedy and plenty of laughs not to mention a good cigar. Iβm forever grateful to him and Barbara for the opportunity to be on the View. RIP βVIEWMASTERβ

She was the best + one thing I havenβt seen her honored for is this: she was the first person on the phone with advice and support when you fell down on the job - she called and offered me the best professional advice of my life and offered to call my boss when I needed it most!

Thank you for opening doors, breaking barriers, shattering glass-ceilings and making it possible for so many of us to stand on shout shoulders.
Rest in Power, #BarbaraWalters.

R.I.P. Barbara Walters: an icon, a legend, & trailblazer. She paved the way for so many of us and for that I am forever grateful.

This may sound silly, but when I started on @TheView I came up with a motto: WWBWD? βWhat Would Barbara Walters Doβ
I repeat it in my head all the time to remind myself to keep my poise, grace, & composure.

Hard to capture in words what Barbara Walters meant to so many of us. She was a trailblazer, a role model, and an icon.
Before I ever dreamed of being on @TheView, I watched her and felt inspired seeing a woman delivering the news at the anchor desk with such force & passion.

Thank you Barbara Walters for giving a shy girl who didnβt like to debate a seven-year chance of a lifetime. Thank You for allowing me to find my voice and encouraging me to fly. My heart hurts, but Iβll always love you Lady! β€οΈ #BarbaraWalters

RIP Barbara Walters β₯οΈ She succeeded as a woman in journalism but she did so while holding the door open for so many more. In a male dominated industry she set the groundwork for a show, that many said would fail, to become the #1 Daytime Talk Show. She will always be an icon β₯οΈ
