The difference between El Paso and Albuquerque. I like them both.

on the street, physically walking around the two places? ABQ stinks of piss everywhere, population density vs amount of pee you'll smell walking any city block, it's got to be the worst ratio in America. And there are drunk Indians (not a fun person to encounter at midnight) and fentanyl drifter zombies everywhere. El Paso has far less urban urine waft, and lower tolerance for marauding blotto natives and creeping junkies.

impale the savannah bananas. launch the savannah bananas into the sun. throw the savannah bananas into an active volcano. leave the savannah bananas to freeze to death in the arctic. drop a nuclear bomb on the savannah bananas. push the savannah bananas overboard in a piranha infested river. waterboard the savannah bananas.
This is my daughter Elizabeth's official senior photo...
Thank goodness her generation of boys are such pathetic wussies that I really don’t have that much to be worried about.
I think.
I hope.

The past few centuries of human history were spent freeing ourselves from every thread that tied us up with unchosen obligations, generational debts and unpaid duties.
We freed women from the shackles of inevitable pregnancy with the Pill and abortion.
We unlinked the elderly from their children with limitless entitlement spending.
We unburdened ourselves from the bonds of marriage with endless legal reforms.
And where are we now? The grave is 3 billion deep. The debt is $40 trillion high. And the hearts of men and women are so hardened to each other that we face inevitable extinction.
The unchosen bonds that we have unraveled were the only tether keeping us anchored. Without them, we are nothing to each other, just jetsam adrift and alone in an uncaring economy.
Under Moloch's reign, love will only be known by those who can defiantly reknit these bonds against all odds.
Well, this is sad and terrible:
“Many experts believe that estrangements between adult children and their parents are becoming an epidemic in the U.S.”
“Psychologists say young adults’ definition of harmful parental behavior is changing.”
They “consider ordinary conflict to be much worse than it once was” and “have a much broader definition than their elders of psychological harm.”
“Many now view repeated criticism, strong disagreements and other painful relationship conflicts as abusive.”
“In their minds, they see themselves as more enlightened and therefore more justified to cut off for more reasons.”

you forgot to mention that one bar founder used it/its pronouns, and the main instigator of the hate campaign against the bar is a gender expansive lesbian identifying as a black man using he/him pronouns, who isn't a regular and lives an hour away.

Everyone gets all upset about the hypocrisy or the naivete or the sheer stupidity of the prison abolition movement. How can they possibly believe...
Brother, most of them don't. I'm sure a few exceptionally dim, sheltered, or overeducated people do put some stock in these utopian theories. But most "abolitionists" aren't that stupid. They're just lying. They want more criminals on the streets because criminals hurt people and cause chaos and suffering. And that's the principle motivating factor of far left politics.

I don’t like Trump’s crypto schemes but, sorry, the correct analogy to Trump’s corruption is not Woke 1.0 which was a society-wide Cultural-Revolution-lite deranging moral panic, but Joe Biden’s presidency where he was essentially wheeled around as a vegetable and the country was governed by people still unknown with the media running cover while the DOJ and administrative state and nat sec were weaponized for censorship and partisan ends to a degree unprecedented since Nixon was forced from power.
So along those lines the corruption and malfeasance under Biden dwarfs anything under Trump. I’d also add that if you look at the exploits of Biden’s family the only reason the financial yield was so low was because the Bidens are a bunch of drug addicts and alcoholics and Z-tier incompetents. It had nothing to do with their actual criminal intent.
Finally, I’m not sure who on the left is being referred to in terms of doing ‘popularism’ - the DSA candidates getting elected are generally low human capital sociopaths whose primary motivation is resentment towards basic civilizational norms. I’m going to *say it with my full chest* but the Dems and the DSA at this point have no interest in accomplishing anything technocratically and their primary interests are confiscation, generating disorder, and punishing disfavored groups. The sooner reasonable moderates openly acknowledge these basic facts rather than dissembling on behalf of the left, the sooner they can end their humiliations and have some semblance of dignity back.
what would be the republican equivalent of democrats deciding that woke 1.0 was crazy?
i think it ~might~ be something like: a party-wide acknowledgement that their party leader, now polling at record lows, really did lose the 2020 election and doesn't deserve kingly featly while he rakes in billions in crypto schemes as inflation rises and iran squeezes the strait of hormuz.
so while i think conservatives are right to be miffed about lefties saying "ha ha whoopsies" about the worst SJW nonsense of the early 2020s, the bigger story, i think, isn't democrats letting go of woke 1, but rather the republicans' amazing inability to let go of the million-pound anchor dragging down the party

The other thing about "always chimp" and the discourse parroted by the podcast right is that it's EASY. Never being satisfied, never looking at what may or may not be practically accomplished, never assessing what has been done behind the scenes, never taking the time to understand how political processes work, or how the government works: all of this is easy on the mind, even if it spirals you into ever crazier conspiratard negativity. You'll never be embarrassed by your lack of knowledge, or feel weak by being compared to people working for change, if "the system needs to be burned down." If you'll never give any credit anywhere until every illegal is deported and the gold standard is restored, then the road ahead is easy, and you'll always be right! Complain, don't do any work, don't get involved, blackpill, rinse, repeat.
Always chimp podcast right retard conspiracy blackpill shit is junk food, spiritually fat, third world, low time preference politics.
Everyone distancing themselves from the woke era 2016-2024, saying they changed their mind, that they were "caught up" in a "crazy" time.
They're not apologizing for what they said, or did, or who they hurt. They're just upset it didn't work as intended and are trying new tactics to achieve the same ends.

Progressives: this is a total left wing victory! Our ideas win again!

the state's attorney for baltimore, who replaced a defund the police/decarceration progressive, started aggressively prosecuting and pushing for harsher sentences for violent felons. this is basically the entire reason for the change in homicide rates. how is this a vindication of progressive governance?
also: have you been to baltimore lately? walked around ANYWHERE at night in the city? you would not think it is some miracle of law and order governance if you did. still a remarkably dangerous city with tons of antisocial behavior and public disorder.
