We do take it for granted how incredible it is that they made a spin-off of the original Star Trek series with an entirely new cast and it became equally beloved and culturally enduring. That's like... almost impossible.

Only downside of TNG is a critical lack of Miles O’Brien

TNG is a show about adults but it's also a show about professionalism/competancy and that subtle balance of having characters who are adults and who are very capable while still delivering engaging drama is something that is missing form the bulk of films/tv shows today.
Something I’ll always appreciate about this series is even in the moments of levity, it’s a show about adults living dignified and full lives in companionship with each other. The TNG crew always made adulthood look so cool and fun, a place to continue your passions…which it is!

Patrick Stewart attended drama school thanks to his local government council. Taxpayers paid for Stewart’s acting education, which is exactly how it should be! Fund the arts and fund education!

The Star Wars prequels actually do a horrible job of showing that killing the sand people was bad. It barely even phases Padme when it’s like, the biggest red flag in the history of red flags. The council never finds out. There are no consequences to it.
It's amazing how a movie can tell you to your face that killing an entire tribe is reprehensible and it clearly adds to the main character's already stumbling psyche and chuds online will still go "erm, but guyssss they kill people"

People who don’t want socialism because “there will be bread lines.” I volunteer at a food giveaway once a month and I hate to break it to you, but the line of cars is getting longer and longer. Every skin color. Right now, under capitalism.

AEW had amazing promos when wrestlers were extensions of themselves and drawing from real life experiences in their creative. Now it's characters trying to hit storytelling points. The whole show lacks an organic feel.
How does AEW have not a single wrestler who can cut a good in ring promo ?

Hurt Syndicate is over but Bobby Lashley refuses to play ball with anyone made in AEW. Alright bet, I keep saying they should get Calvin Tankman and Alex Kane in there and go for the trios title.
WON: It was said from the start that Swerve Strickland would eventually beat Bobby Lashley to get his win back after Full Gear 2024 PPV, but it never happened. Hurt Syndicate also made it clear they wouldn’t drop the tag titles to FTR. When they did drop them, they didn’t lose to a pin and it was turned into a 3-way with Brodido.

I think this is right. Pulaski’s problem is what doesn’t work for her is part of her first impression: they tried to give her a Spock/McCoy thing with Data but Data is far too sweet for that. When they moved past that, though, she really worked - her and *Worf*, that worked.
my hottest take in regards to tng is that pulaski is a way better character than people give her credit for and I do think a lot of why people hate her is misogyny

Pulaski was expecting too much of the audience in 1988. People remember her hating Data when we were just learning to love him. It challenged the simplicity of syndicated serialized TV for people to remember that growth. It’s a shame Pulaski was never brought back in some way.
The thing about Pulaski is that some people can't handle a woman that shows growth. They view her as this intentionally bigoted person against Data when she just didn't understand him at first. By the end of the season Pulaski gains respect for Data.

This isn't really a contradiction. DS9 is the best Star Trek series, but TNG is the defining Star Trek series.
I know general consensus now seems to be “Deep Space 9 is the best one” but TNG will always for me be Trek at its truest and very best.
