ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics.
@ElissaSlotkin
This US Senator told us to our face last week that she would weaponize government specifically to intimidate young conservatives out of public service, and now she’s doubling down on her plans for political persecution.
She is an authoritarian. She needs to be investigated.
Chicago Thinker Senior Editor @MichaelBicksel is acting quickly to hold @SenatorSlotkin accountable for her brazen attempt to intimidate young conservatives out of government service by threatening political prosecution. See below:

Sen. Elissa Slotkin's remarks have now prompted calls for investigations from BOTH the Senate Ethics Committee and the DOJ.
CASA filed a formal ethics complaint calling for an investigation into her statements about deterring young Americans from serving in the Trump administration.
Now, Mike Davis of the Article III Project is urging the DOJ to examine whether those SAME remarks warrant a civil rights investigation.
The Senate Ethics Committee now has a formal complaint before it. CASA is pressing for those concerns to receive a thorough investigation.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: The DOJ is being urged to investigate Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) over remarks about targeting Trump administration officials and deterring young professionals from taking jobs in the administration.
The request comes from Article III Project founder Mike Davis in a letter obtained by @dcexaminer.

NEW: A FOURTH Democrat senator, @SenGaryPeters, comes out IN SUPPORT of @SenatorSlotkin’s policy of weaponizing prosecutions to INTIMIDATE young conservatives out of government service.
The American people have watched President Trump enrich himself and his cronies. Members of both parties should be calling out this Administration's corruption - like @SenatorSlotkin is doing. She is simply saying that no one is above the law, and no one should be.
At this point, more Democrat Senators have come out in favor of political intimidation of young conservatives than Republican Senators have condemned it.
Should the entire Democrat Senate conference be investigated? @CivilRights
BREAKING: A SECOND ethics complaint against @ElissaSlotkin has been filed by @ThinkerChicago Senior Editor @MichaelBicksel (read more in quote tweet).
The backlash towards Slotkin’s brazen threats against young conservatives is massive. She must face consequences.
BREAKING: @Article3Project submits a formal request to DOJ @CivilRights division to investigate @ElissaSlotkin’s threats of political persecution against young conservatives.
She must be held accountable.

NEW: @ElissaSlotkin reminds everyone of her remarks last week, conveniently forgetting when she told us to our faces that she wants to weaponize government to send “that deterrence message” to young conservatives who pursue government service. Despicable.
"We need to hold people accountable who have violated the law and use taxpayer dollars for corruption to enrich the president."

There's a new version of this post
BREAKING: More US Senators are backing @SenatorSlotkin’s policy of selectively prosecuting Trump officials in order to scare young conservatives from government service, with @SenatorLujan professing his support.
Authoritarianism is now the public standard of the Democrat party.
.@SenatorSlotkin should never face threats of prosecution for calling out corruption, no matter how angry it makes the president. Threats and intimidation have no place in our democracy. I stand with Senator Slotkin.
BREAKING: Congresswoman @RepKMR SUPPORTS @SenatorSlotkin’s policy of selectively prosecuting Trump officials in order to scare young conservatives out of government service, ironically saying “It's unacceptable to use the justice system to threaten your political opponents.”
.@SenatorSlotkin is a patriot, who has sworn an oath to serve multiple times. She called out blatant corruption and she was right to do so.
It's unacceptable to use the justice system to threaten your political opponents. These continued attacks against her are dangerous, and they are offensive to the ideals we all hold as Americans. It needs to stop.
Nobody disagrees with this. But you said that you will SELECT which cases to prosecute based on how much they will INTIMIDATE young conservatives who wish to serve in government.
We will not be silenced by a wannabe dictator like you.
I have been clear for some time on where I stand on prosecuting corruption and illegal acts.
In a speech a few weeks ago, I said we need to hold accountable the people and institutions who stole billions of our taxpayer dollars and weaponized the government against its people. And we need a list of signature cases that go after some of the most obvious and harmful abuses of taxpayer dollars.
If Kristi Noem steered $200 million in taxpayer dollars to a friend's company to make her TV ads, as GOP sources suggest, she should be held accountable.
If Doug Burgum gave a $13 million no-bid contract for the reflecting pool, he should be held accountable.
And if Jeanine Pirro used the Department of Justice to go after the president's enemies without any legal basis, she should lose her law license, in line with the law.
This Communist wants to form a one-party state by persecuting the opposite political party and scaring young people out of serving in government.
She refuses to apologize for her sinister remarks and continues to double down on her authoritarian impulses.
Sickening.

Replying to @SenatorSlotkin
@SenatorSlotkin is lying. Read my latest op-ed in @realDailyWire here: dailywire.com/news/we-broke-…
Just a few hours ago, President Trump said in the Oval Office that I should be tried in court because I dared to talk about the corruption coming out of the White House.
If I've learned one thing from this past year, it's that you have to push back. I'm not going to be intimidated out of standing up for the rule of law and the country that has given me everything.
BREAKING: A formal Senate ethics complaint against @SenatorSlotkin has been filed by @SecureUSA after she publicly admitted that she wanted to prosecute Trump administration officials so young people would fear for their legal safety if they chose to serve in government.
CASA has filed a SENATE ETHICS COMPLAINT against Sen. Elissa Slotkin after she publicly called for deterring young Americans from working in the Trump administration.
Slotkin said she wanted prospective staffers to fear they could be “buying myself a ton of problems” by taking a job and made clear: “I want that deterrence message sent.”
CASA is calling on the Senate Ethics Committee to investigate whether those remarks crossed the line from political criticism into INTIMIDATION of Americans seeking public service.
BREAKING: US senator @CortezMasto appears to SUPPORT @ElissaSlotkin’s policy of political persecution with the intent to strike fear into the hearts of young conservatives who wish to serve in government.
Is this really the state of Democrats in Congress today?
.@ElissaSlotkin is right: President Trump’s administration is the most corrupt in my lifetime. And if you break the law, there should be accountability.
It is despicable and dangerous to threaten a sitting U.S. Senator and her staff simply for doing their jobs and calling out this Administration’s grift.

Sen. Slotkin is guilty of EXACTLY the authoritarian tactics she accuses the right of using. She said PUBLICLY that she supports political persecution to intimidate young conservatives out of serving in government.
She needs to apologize. Now.
