A massive floating island appeared in British Columbia’s Williston Reservoir before mysteriously disappearing weeks later. The tree-covered island was about the size of two football fields and was seen in satellite images on July 21. By August 5, it was gone. Officials believe high water may have broken the island away from shore before wind pushed it across the reservoir, but its exact location is still unknown. (via @tmztv )
