20 years ago I was an 8 year old kid that heard music on the radio for the first time, it was Jason Aldean and it was Amarillo Sky. The number one thing I had on my bucket list was to see him, it was worth the wait, his music has gotten me through so much over the last 20 years: from losing my grandma 9 years ago next month, to my divorce two years ago, to losing my mom and uncle to cancer early this year. This was only my second ever concert but it’s one I’ll never forget, and I couldn’t have done it without my wife Abby . Jason whole band played lights out the whole night, it’s one of the many reasons why he will always be considered the GOAT of country music in my book.
Even more so I got to sing Try That in a Small Town at the top of my lungs.
I’ll forever stand by what the true meaning of that song is, and there nothing greater than seeing it live
