I tried to figure out what I actually trust in a season where parity reigns. Here were my top thoughts on who/what I trust after eight weeks of college football 👇

It’s a gauntlet, but getting Florida and Louisville at home gives me enough optimism to say they’ve got a great chance.

Side bar. I just don’t find BIG 10 football enjoyable or fun to watch. Yes, USC played horrendously. Yes, they deserve to lose. But having every team try to shorten the game on you and getting seven or eight possessions is just not a fun product.

If you can’t trust Lincoln with the state’s most sacred tradition, why would you trust him to coach your team?

There’s a big opening at Baylor. There’s a lot of good coaches with Texas roots who really want this job. Expect a big swing — and keep an eye on these names. nytimes.com/athletic/7723774…

Spencer Danielson, Jeff Traylor and even Lincoln Riley could be viable candidates for the Bears.

Happy for my Baylor friends. If you’ve been around the show for any length of time, I’ve told stories of how I knew Aranda wouldn’t work out at Baylor.

BREAKING: Baylor has fired head coach Dave Aranda after 7 seasons. Aranda went an even 40-40 during his time with the Bears. In 2021, Aranda led the Bears to a 12-2 record, a Big 12 title, Sugar Bowl victory, and an AP Top 5 finish, but the other 6 seasons were lackluster.

Wisconsin gives USC the belt in Camp Randall. Rumor has it, Lincoln Riley will cosplay a competent football coach for Halloween!

I guess it’s “never” for Riley at USC. Unfathomable how Lincoln will lose yet another big game after a disaster class in game & clock management.

There's HOW many quarters in a football game?!

Death, taxes, Texas absolutely refusing to play four complete quarters. Even with injuries, they’re so close to be an actual title contender.

There is no part of the offensive gameplan that feels prepared past the first quarter. It’s like half time is used for orange slices and juice boxes.

KJ Edwards led Texas A&M in rushing with 8 carries for 43 yards. He had 3 carries in the final 3 quarters of the game. He was averaging 7.4 YPC in the 1st quarter and got 3 touches after that…

The film guys are going to feast against this A&M 2nd half AGAIN Horrendous situational awareness and playcalling I don’t understand why some of these things seem like they’re not prepared for
