The ads are now running, so get those books listed! Let's build this bigger. It's FREE with the only requirements being that books be indie (small press and self-published) and based. Right now, only fiction categories are available, but I am considering priorities for adding nonfiction categories.
I know people hate them, but I'm working on setting up Google ads to promote the site. We're approaching 1000 books and I think it's time to go wider with ads to get the word out beyond my minimal social media reach... So, if you see it in the wild somewhere outside of YouTube, X, or Truth, let me know!

youtu.be/GF64afzlAQ0?si=huFn… Generally when I see her videos, I find myself nodding along. Where I diverge on this one is not that there aren't issues in society, it is that Holden is the same as the society, from what I remember. He is the ultimate phony, because he is the same as the phonies he sees. Now maybe it is because I was poor as a kid, and working class background etc, but you can't afford to be phony and consumerist etc when you have no food. For me, Holden came across like a protestor writing a polemic against society on his IPhone that he bought a month ago, while waiting in line to buy the newest one. He is everything he hates.

I have been listening a lot lately to literature or book adjacent podcasts, and something occurred to me, though I am sure it is not a unique insight. I'll use Catcher in the Rye as an example. People talk about how it observed things about society, culture, behavior etc. I never felt that way when I read it. Then people will talk about the context in which it was written, but I knew people such as my grandparents etc who lived through that time. What they thought and believed, their own life experience etc. And that's the thing. Most of these works that are seen as great or culturally relevant aren't. They are only relevant to a slice of the culture, the elite slice. Their observations aren't about culture generally, the human condition. They are mirrors to themselves, and whoever shared their college dorm.

In Qatar, Macron claimed that the riots in France had nothing to do with mass migration. French intelligence warned him that Melenchon’s radical left party -that wants mass migration to overthrow capitalism- was planning to sow chaos. So, Macron seems a bit confused.

Current society is falling apart because men raised by women are afraid to confront women, even when they are wrong, and don't know how. Everyone is trying to placate because it is easier in the short term, because it is easy to dissolve a relationship, and hard to be honest.

Labeling something a classic, or labeling something banned, is purely marketing for people who want to see themselves as intellectual and moral, without having to actually read or unserstand a book. Just buy and display it, because that is exactly what it is. Performance.

Christopher does good stuff. Very enjoyable.
Book 2 is almost here: getbook.at/DanforthSeries The Nazis came seeking a weapon. What answers them is hungry.

I don't normally try poetry much, but lately, events make me consider it. Fire, Fire, they shout, but is it firing rounds or burning down? Hold, Hold, they roar, but will those hands embrace or gore? Fight, Fight, they spit, but what fire have they just lit?

The vast majority of people under a certain age don't have enough experience to have much interesting to say. Obviously, many exceptions, but it is generally the case. Some people die of old age without being interesting either.
The average age of debut novelists is 35??

Fire at will.
Tens of thousands of rioters are approaching the Louvre. They have vowed to burn it down along with EVERYTHING in it. You are an advisor to the French govt. Security informs you that the ONLY way to stop the rioters is to gun them all down. There would be a minimum of 1000 deaths. Do you advise security to shoot?
