A few more days to apply. In case you are doubting if you should apply: We are a growing department working on wildlife conservation and sustainable wildlife management. There are great funding opportunities to work on wildlife in Sweden and Umeå is a great city to be based at.
We are growing our team working on quantitative methods to study wildlife/game populations and are now recruiting a researcher for a permanent! position in Umeå. Anyone with a PhD can apply, but some postdoc experience will likely be beneficial.

We think the Polecam shows promise but larger field tests in different sites with known polecat occurrence would be good to see if a larger effort can increase precision in the estimates. As we observed multiple species, it could also be used to look at species interactions. 6/7

Have you ever though how your personal decision of place a #cameratrap in one tree or another determine the number of animals recorded?
What about to rotate the cameras to new locations during the study to increase the number of sampling points?
New study adressed these ideas🔽
