I will speak about this tomorrow, too. KiryaSait brigade. And I hope that, through our own lives, we can become living testimonies that failure is not final. That those who have fallen can rise again. That those who have been written off can write new chapters. At 5, we slept in cow and sheep hides. At 11, my father suffered a terrible road accident that fractured his skull. I relied on scholarships to get through school and university. In 2008, I was unemployed, expecting my first child, and uncertain about the future. We lost money in a pig farm we had worked so hard to build. In 2012, I lost my father to cancer. In 2016, unpaid bills nearly brought our company to its knees. Then COVID came, and we lost even more. In 2022, I lost the UDA primaries. In 2023, I suffered another very public defeat in the Senate by-election. I know what it means to fail. To lose. To be anxious. To wonder whether all your effort will ever amount to anything. But I also know this: You can lose an election without losing your purpose. You can lose money without losing your dreams. You can lose your way without losing your future. And that is what I want every young person to know. That the doors closed before you today are not necessarily closed forever. That the platform you have been denied today may be the very platform you will build tomorrow. And when you finally rise, may you remember those still struggling to find their feet. May your success become a ladder for others to climb. We will rise. And we will lift others as we rise. One day, the very things that nearly broke us will become the stories that give others courage to keep going. I’m Tim Kipchumba. I’ve failed. I’ve fallen. I’ve started again. And I’m not done. I joined the Kapkea family, our friend Hon. Evans Kapkea, Deputy Governor of our neighbouring Uasin Gishu County, and the people of Kaptarakwa Ward and Keiyo South to mourn the sudden loss of Stanley Kapkea. Losing a loved one is never easy, and a sudden loss is especially painful. My heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and the entire community during this difficult time. May God grant the family strength, comfort and peace as they come to terms with this loss. Rest in peace, Stanley Kapkea.
