Helping Putin at Ukraine's expense doesn't make America safer. It emboldens Russia, undermines our alliances, and risks encouraging other autocrats to believe that aggression pays. Standing with Ukraine is both the right thing to do and in America's national interest.

Russia's unrelenting attacks on Ukraine and the intentional targeting of civilians proves that Putin has zero intention of ending this war. He is a war criminal and a menace to the civilized world, and should be treated as such.

Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. Enough is enough. President Trump should rescind the diesel deal with Russia and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; use the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia Act to impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. It's hard for me to believe that, at a time when the Russians continue to bring misery and destruction to the people of Ukraine, we would even consider giving them an economic lifeline by buying their diesel fuel. This has to stop.

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day. Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine. As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia. America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration. Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. He goes to the airport to greet (1) a communist dictator and a (2) Russian imperialist who has slaughtered hundreds of thousands, and (3) praises a ruthless autocrat in North Korea, but... Canada is one of the best countries in the world. This is not normal. I find it hard to understand how anyone could still support this foreign policy. It does not advance American nationalist interests or American values.

James Talarico serves at the state and local level-- and that's where you learn that leadership requires talking to and earning the support of more than just people who agree with you. Very impressive stuff coming from the Talarico campaign.
Q: If John Cornyn himself chose to endorse you, is that support that you would welcome? Talarico: Oh, absolutely, I'm running for his seat in the U.S. Senate. And, whether he endorses me or not, I will seek his counsel. I will seek his guidance in doing this big, important job.

The president himself said he’s open to Chinese companies coming in, setting up shop, making Chinese cars here. And I just wanna say, as Michigan’s senator, that is the beginning of the end of the American auto industry. We just don’t want the president to make any dumb deals. He’s rolling out the red carpet for Chinese companies as he punches others in the teeth.
