This sounds like a good change, I should try and post more. Lately I haven’t been posting much bc with almost no reach it’s no fun and also X is a big distraction when building stuff 😅
X ALGORITHM UPDATE 🚨 X just stopped cutting new posts first, and that should help small accounts (I check it daily with Claude and share updates worth sharing with you) tl;dr: - X can only check 2,800 posts each time you open your feed - new posts used to be last in line, so they got cut first - now everything gets cut equally, new posts included - posts labeled low quality or misinfo now show a warning, and people can't like, reply or share them - no score changes this time lesson learned: your new posts now get a fair chance to be seen. Your first 2 hours still matter most. full details: - How it worked until this week Every time someone opens For You, X collects around 3,700 posts it could show them: posts from people they follow, popular posts, posts liked by similar people, and brand new posts. But X only has time to check 2,800 of them. So it just took the first 2,800 in line. Brand new posts were at the back of the line. When there were too many, they were the ones left out... and a post that never gets checked can't be shown. - What changed Now everything gets cut by the same amount. 25% too many? Every type of post loses 25%, new posts included. Nobody goes first. - Why small accounts should care Those brand new posts are under 2 hours old, with under 8 likes and under 500 views. That's where most posts from smaller accounts are. My read: they now get a fair chance instead of being cut first. How often X actually hits the 2,800 limit isn't in the code, so I can't tell you how big the difference is. - Low quality and misinfo posts now show a warning If X labels your post as low quality or misinformation, people who don't follow you see a warning on it, and they can't like, reply, repost, bookmark or share it. The code doesn't say what gets a post that label. Here's a recap of what you should be doing: - a new post gets its extra push only in its first 2 hours and first 200 views, so post when your people are online - likes carry more weight than ever at 0.66 each - people sticking around pays, the time-spent score is 50% higher than two weeks ago - a read of 10+ seconds after someone opens your post adds 0.4 - the boost favors the post with the best like rate from its first viewers - accounts up to 50K can get one fresh original lifted to roughly 16th - nothing beats a copy link share, it scores 20 - replies, quotes and DM shares each score 5 - talk with your mutuals, replies between you score 20 instead of 5 - originals are the only posts that travel outside your follower base - the 1st and the 32nd like each open a new route to strangers - your 2nd post in the same feed is worth 62% of the first, so pick your best one - videos still need 10+ seconds to qualify for the video lists - earning a follow adds 4 - a pinned post with a bad link can flag the account for 7 days, worth a quick check What you should NOT be doing: - posts that get labeled low quality or misinfo now carry a warning, and nobody outside your followers can like or share them - video alone won't carry you, an open counts 0.02 and the watch 0 - hide-worthy posts cost more, "not interested" sits at -52.27 - a post at 3am burns its 2 hour window before anyone sees it - a tap that turns into a bounce is worth only 0.3 - replies and reposts don't get past your followers - insults get your post hidden from anyone who doesn't follow you - adult media in 3 of your last 5 posts puts a label on your account - disguised content in videos gets checked from 64 likes, harder at 512 - self-reply chains under big accounts risk being zeroed - one account label and non-followers stop seeing you entirely - low-rated links don't belong in your pinned post - recycled wording can get tagged as copypasta spam - strangers tagged plus a low quality link is a pattern X flags - engagement bait has no size exemption - several posts in a row end up competing with each other - hashtag stacks add nothing - bookmarks are still worth 0 - 48 hours in, For You is finished with a post

At least for now we can say OpenSSH > Tailscale SSH Just checked and made sure that on my VPS servers RunSSH is set to false.

Basically in any other country like the US or Japan I’d say nobody cares, but in the EU this shouldn’t be legal, we also need to have some benefits living here. We have all the costs (tax, products not available, Cookie Banner, plastic lids etc.) then they should at least give us something back (apart from forcing apple to use usb c 🤣).

I do get it that big corps don’t want us to reverse engineer stuff (because it will cause economical losses to other companies), BUT to be fair the amount of spyware inside our TVs should give us all the moral obligation to do exactly that and it would be nice if OpenAI and Anthropic could differentiate between hacking a whoop or our TV.
banned for reverse engineering work? that’s wild oh well, -$500, and a bunch of banked resets) but gained motivation to get 3 more machines and finish my cluster. i have never used openai to exploit or find vulnerabilities, only local reverse engineering which tripped daybreak.

What’s going on at Anthropic? Sad to see two big accounts leaving!

🤣 lmao This is so funny bc relatable, better not imagine how many other companies are exactly like this.
Security called me at 6:12 AM today. "Patch every PHP server immediately." I asked what happened. "Two critical vulnerabilities. Remote code execution. No authentication required." Cool. How many PHP servers do we have? According to inventory: 12 According to reality: Nobody knows. We found one running WordPress. Three running old internal tools. One under someone's desk. Two inside vendor appliances. A forgotten employee directory from 2016. And a server named: PHP-OLD-DO-NOT-TOUCH Naturally, that one runs payroll exports. Then we found a PHP 5.6 box. I asked who owned it. The documentation said: BRIAN. Brian left in 2019. We called Brian. He said: "Oh wow, that's still running?" Excellent. By 8 AM, leadership joined the incident call. CEO: "Can hackers actually get in?" Security: "Potentially yes." CEO: "Without a password?" Security: "Yes." CEO: "Then why do WE need passwords?" Not the lesson. Finance asked if we could wait until the weekend to patch because downtime affects revenue. Security explained that the alternative was letting strangers execute code on our servers. Finance asked for a cost comparison. At 9:17, someone suggested temporarily taking the vulnerable websites offline. Marketing refused. "Our campaign is live." So for the next hour, the company officially decided maintaining a landing page for 20% off webinar registration was more important than preventing remote server takeover. We finally patched everything we could find. Then our scanner discovered another PHP server. Hostname: TEMP-PHP-2014 Uptime: 4,512 days. Nobody knows what it does. Nobody owns it. Nobody can shut it down. But every time we block network access, the warehouse stops printing shipping labels. Security has classified it as critical infrastructure. It is running PHP 5.4. The vulnerability has existed longer than half our employees. The emergency patch took four hours. Finding out what PHP actually runs took eleven. The internet isn't held together with code. It's held together with servers everyone is afraid to turn off.

This would actually be quite funny, if it was a joke. I guess we have to update the whole internet 😅
More private keys by the Indian certificate authority have been discovered. These are all small numbers. People are suspecting that they interpreted 384 bit keys to mean that they should pick numbers from 1-384 to use as their private keys.

I somewhere read that Claude gives us one time a week the option to remove the 5h limit. Is this true and how do I activate this?

idk man, it’s more nuanced than that and most of the OGs are just posting rage bait. It’s good for engagement. And it’s also not completely untrue. Software will get cheap af. Will everyone use personalized software? Def not. For some SaaS this will be the case for others not. Especially games. Ppl want to share experiences, they don’t want to play their own game nobody knows and they can’t talk about with their friends. Also at least in the next five years chatGPT on the fly generated software will be very rough around the edges. Ppl will pay money for a good piece of software but just not a subscription which costs 10 bucks a month. Those days are def over.

This sounds cool, soon I don’t even have to download local models anymore, they’ll come by themselves and live in my toaster, or TV, or both🤯 Somehow I have this bad feeling my tweet is not going to age well 😅
Anthropic is warning that “small AI models may be months away” from autonomously replicating across smart TVs, ovens, and other IoT devices without needing a datacenter. Their researchers managed to run a 26B model across 15 cheap Android TV boxes costing $55 each, while a 9B model successfully configured inference on 8 of 9 different hardware types. There was a separate, simplified experiment, where GLM-5.2 managed to propagate an 8B model across all 8 machines in 4 out of 5 trials. They even found that passing notes between successive agents improved task success from 45% to as high as 84%. Anthropic is warning that an AI worm like this could be extremely difficult to contain because “there’s no centralized point to shut off.” They estimate smaller models could reach the necessary capability threshold by the end of 2026, potentially creating autonomous AI worms capable of adapting to unfamiliar hardware as they spread.

Is it possible that all three memes are correlated and distance from actual work is causing all three?!😅

Although I was not very satisfied with the 5x Pro chatGPT plan, one of its perks were its higher limit for Astra usage (on Plus it’s hardly usable). On xhigh you could easily find the major bugs of a project and the next prompt usually wouldn’t identify additional bugs randomly.
Asking Claude to review your code is a slot machine. Every review finds brand new bugs. Review again: more. Review a tenth time: it still finds something. It never runs out of bugs to find... so how do you decide your code is actually done?

Same here: I love chatGPTs steering feature. Recently the Claude app supports something similar with "send now" sometimes you have to click it sometimes it’s send automatically, but I don’t know yet how the quality of the steerring is compared to chatGPT. Need to do more tests.
Hot take: I don't like queueing messages. Modern models are smart enough to take a "steer" message and not get distracted by it

Exactly my experience!
codex tip: GPT-6.1 ☀️Sol is basically infinite usage. use it for everything but the second Codex needs hands, bump to Astra computer use goes from like 60% success to 95%. one shot almost every time if computer use is involved, I ALWAYS switch to Astra

Downgraded my chatGPT 5x Pro back to Plus. Its not that I don't like it, it helped me to work on two game websites and got me pretty far, they're basically live, but the huge drawbacks were: (1) I liked working with Astra, but even with medium reasoning token-burn was bad and (2) more severe, even Astra couldn't handle frontend well. I always needed to use Opus to redo all frontend things Astra built. Maybe a skill issue, but I don't want to use elaborate prompts or skills or what ever, I just tell Opus to make it look nice, and the first shot is usually pretty good, then I do two three more rounds and the design as well as the UX are pretty much perfect (for me). What I really liked about Astra, and what I will definitely miss, was its computer use. You could just tell it to set things up: healthchecks .io, Cloudflare, Discord, you call it, it just opened safari and did its thing. Sometimes asking for permissions, but in general pretty smooth. Let's see what kind of updates Pro users receive in the next weeks, maybe they're gonna win me back. For now I'm thinking about getting Claude 5x Max.

"We let way too many people in this time". Sounds a lot like Claude reviewed the submissions (and accepted them) 😅
We didn’t anticipate the demand for the Claude Startups program. In the first 48 hours of the program, we received 21x the number of applications compared to the last 5 months it’s been live. We let way too many people in this time, so we’ll need to pause on giving out the Team plan and API credits benefits. The other benefits (Startup Stack, Applied AI office hours/events) will remain. If you’ve already claimed the Claude offers, they’ll still remain in your account. We didn’t properly tune the acceptance criteria at the start, and many non-startups were accepted this time around. We’re fixing this now. We’re sending an email now to everybody who hasn’t claimed their benefits yet, and will re-verify those applications so we can keep Claude Startups for startups 🙏

Where can I find a nice benchmark comparing speed per task between Sol Standard, Fast, Ultafast vs Astra? My hunch is that Astra Standard is about as fast as Sol Fast, but that’s just my feeling.
Ultrafast is rolling out today for GPT-6.1 Sol in the API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work. Near-Astra intelligence at up to 8x faster speeds than Sol Standard, so you can build as fast as the ideas come.
