Elections are cyclical. Depending on your perspective, you’ve lived highs and lows on the day after an election. Today I’m choosing not to celebrate anyone’s victory or mourn in anyone’s defeat, but rather to see where a divided Washington takes us.
Here’s a point to ponder. Is any store worth paying to enter and spend money? Do you really recoup that? The fastest way to wealth in America is permission to get a recurring charge on your credit card. What if Wegmans started a membership?? wivb.com/news/local-news/amh…
Incredibly proud of Susan Rose as she walked away with the ‘Best Radio Program’ award from the Buffalo Broadcasters Awards tonight for @WBEN ‘A New Morning’ with Susan Rose and Brian Mazurowski. More recognition for all those 2:30 a.m. alarms!
Unless the mayor wakes up and acts like a leader instead of a career politician, Buffalo will live with essentially a thruway rest stop…on the waterfront. It will be his ‘legacy’. audacy.com/wben/news/local/r…
Is it just a coincidence that, in a pivotal election year in NYS, that a STAR credit check is being issued to property owners, instead of being credited on tax bills, as is the norm? Getting a ‘check’ on the day before your tax bill isn’t at all suspicious, no??
I’m glad the AM radio bill passed the House. But what’s next? Mandating AM, and even FM, in homes? Offices? Of course not. Broadcasters need to focus more on the relevance and quality of their content to motivate people to find it and consume it. barrettmedia.com/2026/09/17/…
It may be sovereign land, but I can’t imagine it’s what native ancestry had in mind for a now blossoming waterfront entertainment district. A gas station and truck stop. This will go down as another development mistake in Buffalo history. audacy.com/wben/news/local/c…

From 7 to 8 pm, the #Buffalo airport recorded 1.77 inches of rain in an hour! This is the 2nd greatest 1-hour precipitation measurement in the airport records (July/1943) . Greatest: 1.93" in an hour set August 15th 2015.

I agree with @GovKathyHochul that changing a lakes name is a waste of time and effort. But I hope she also sees canceling a gov’t job fair in Erie County is just as pointless and that she is big enough to step-in and reverse that decision.
This is absolutely reprehensible. A job recruitment event to help people find gainful employment is canceled because it somehow goes against the beliefs of elected officials? Don’t go if you disagree, but don’t block others who need and want a job. wgrz.com/article/news/local/…
When I was asked about programming WBEN ‘back in the day’ and what I would do first, I quickly said I would go to Milwaukee and bring Sandy Beach back to Buffalo and talkradio, where he belongs.
I got the job, I got Sandy, and I never looked back.
RIP my friend. ❤️

An area of weakening thunderstorms is expected to move into western NY this morning. Additional development of thunderstorms is expected across the region through this evening. Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are possible and most likely between 12PM-10PM.
Recorded overnight newscasts are
not ‘breaking news’ to anyone who pays attention. ABC is not alone in guilt there. As long as radio is treated like a commodity and not a service, it will only get worse. barrettmedia.com/2026/07/14/…
