I’m home and wearing my new favorite shirt.
Things continue to progress very well. For the most part, my head doesn’t hurt unless I cough or sneeze (no surprise). I was able to stop taking the prescription pain killer yesterday and only occasionally take Tylenol.
Biggest thing I’m dealing with is nasal congestion and drainage. Not much different than a cold but without the constant sneezing. I’m mostly able to relieve it with a saline solution spray but have prescription strength Afrin that I’ve been using before bed so I can breathe.
Got discharged! It was a day later than initially expected because my cortisol levels were a bit high, but they’re significantly lower today.
From here I am heading to some friends house for a few days before heading home. It always feels good when all the IV tubes are removed.
Out of surgery early. The neurosurgeon has been in and said everything went really well. I feel good. Just a mild headache. All the doctors are very pleased with how it went. So far, they’re saying it was the best possible outcome. They didn’t have to remove any pituitary gland.
I spent the day at Mayo for final rounds of tests to clear me for surgery. I met with the anesthesiologist this afternoon and he said everything looked good and I should be good to go on Tuesday. Time to evict this tumor in my head.
I received one of the nicest compliments today. I was at @PhoenixCityGril and one of the regulars said, “I always like when you’re here. You’re so normal.”
It seems like such a simple statement but I understood how meaningful it was for them to say it.
I think this is what @Goobers515 @Leto and @TheRomShow need to properly celebrate the fall season. 😂
I love seeing so many @dallascowboys fans. Almost like a home game.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve been to a game, but when the @dallascowboys come to town, it’s a good time to make it. Let’s go Cowboys! – at Arizona, USA
Was not expecting presents for my birthday and wasn’t initially pleased when I found out that @JediKraken and @ArcaneLumi had conspired to send me a couple items.
Once I saw them, I laughed and appreciated the items. The shirt is definitely going to the hospital with me. 🤣🤣 – at Anthem, AZ
Well, certainly not the birthday present I was hoping for. I heard from a nurse for one of the three surgeons that they already have a surgery scheduled for 10/17, so my surgery isn’t happening that day.
They’re currently looking at rescheduling for 11/14, but still TBD. 😞 – at Phoenix, AZ
Well, I finally have a date set. Brain tumor surgery is scheduled for first thing in the morning on October 17th.
At least I now know when it’s getting evicted. – at Phoenix, AZ
Talked to my Neurosurgeon tonight. Had MRI today & it showed my brain tumor hasn’t grown since January. Because of this they’re going to schedule my surgery late September/early October.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about him from other people, so I don’t mind waiting. – at Anthem, AZ
Update on my brain tumor. Had a call with my neurosurgeon. Based on latest tests he’s expediting the surgery. He’s expecting to schedule within next 2-3 weeks.
Fortunately, they will be able to get to it through my sinuses. I’ll be in the hospital 24 hrs and off work for a week. – at Phoenix, AZ
Haven’t shared a lot here but I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January
Monday I had a test that would determine more on it. Tonight I’ve heard from my Epidemiologist. She’s recommending to my Neurosurgeon to schedule surgery to remove it. Here we go… – at Anthem, AZ
