Maybe it’s my neurodivergence, but I prefer complete honesty. Let me down, call me out, tell me how you feel. I can handle an uncomfortable truth. What I struggle with is being kept in the dark because someone decided for me that I couldn’t handle it.

Africa has officially launched the Africa Energy Bank, a new financial institution established through a partnership between the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the African Petroleum Producers’ Organisation (APPO).
The institution has an authorised capital base of $5 billion and is designed to provide much-needed financing for oil and gas projects across the continent.
Its creation comes as many traditional international lenders reduce their involvement in fossil fuel investments, leaving African energy producers facing growing challenges in securing funding.
The bank is expected to help bridge this financing gap by mobilising capital to support the development of Africa’s petroleum industry and strengthen its energy sector.
