Correctly put here and in the replies, it’s a cascading problem and the root of it is found in the front office philosophy
The Patriots WR problems stem from drafting Will Campbell.
Tet was right there. The perfect WR for Drake Maye on a cheap rookie contract.
Because they missed on this franchise altering opportunity, the Patriots had to take risks ie spend money for Romeo Doubs. They had to trade assets for AJ Brown. That likely doesn’t happen if the Patriots have their cost controlled WR at 4.
“But they needed a tackle!”
Very cool. What has it landed them? The Patriots OL wasn’t even good when healthy. It’s now bad with injuries. To add to that, Campbell and Moses (another player they paid a lot of money for) are some of the most ‘helped’ tackles in the NFL.
They dont get left on an island, because it’s not sustainable for either of them.
This doesn’t mean Campbell is a bad player. He’s a solid tackle, nothing more.
But now they’ve poured massive resources into a position that isn’t currently giving them return.
Tet would. The OL can’t get much worse, so that’s not an argument either.

The Patriots have struggled in the Red Zone (19th all year)
Despite being 2nd in PPG for the last 3 games, they’re still 12th in RZ scoring offense during that time.
A player like Taylor takes pressure off of Drake Maye in the End Zone and will convert more drives for TD’s. That’s what could take them to the next level.

Once again @Drake_Silvah and the guys at @TitleTalkShow had it first. Reporting that Brown would be unlikely to play this Sunday because of his degenerative knee.
“This was a well known issue, the patriots knew this, the eagles knew this and the other suitors knew this as well”.
