Watched two amazing talks by @TodePond at @GOTOcon. Lu's energy and unique experience is something else. She's not only a cracked engineer but also incredibly wise! For the people. Be comfortable. Have fun. Let code die. I'm so inspired, thanks.

Please welcome @TodePond as a #YOW26 keynote speaker! Lu will explore how practices & mentalities of an informal jam session might tell us abt the way we collaborate, create & build software together. 📍 MEL 3-4 Dec yowcon.com/melbourne-2026/ 📍 BNE 7-8 Dec yowcon.com/brisbane-2026/

In "Jam-oriented programming: Bringing improvisational jazz to engineering", Lu explores a chaotic, permissionless style of dev where anyone can add, edit or delete code in real time. Radical, chaotic and surprisingly effective. 🎟️ Jam with Lu in London: eventbrite.co.uk/e/xconf-eur…

What if software dev felt less like a rigid process and more like an improvisational jazz jam? 🎷 We’re very excited to have @TodePond (Lu Wilson) as our #XConf Europe keynote speaker!

i posted this up this week not really sure if it was the case or not. i was hoping someone could reassure me or something. the responses i received afterwards from sponsors and organisers and attendees cleared things up and now I'm 100% sure
is "local first" completely co-opted by big tech yet? looking at the conference that just happened.. - very non-local-first sponsors - extremely un-diverse speakers - website doesn't work on my phone - the tadi web is dead

some people have told me i should have gone to local first conf but i couldn't because i was invited to give the opening keynote and run a workshop at a different conference that happened at the same time:

this post hit a nerve with some people (on various platforms) a lot of people defending the sponsors. no one defending the lack of diversity though or the fact it doesn't work on my phone, and still no one knows what a pastapocalypse is but they reply guy me anyway
