Fewer employers are covering GLP-1s for weight loss: 53% of those with 100+ workers now, down from 57% last year (WTW). Another 16% are thinking about dropping them. Employers, if your plan is changing for 2027, tell people now, not at the pharmacy counter in January.

Bill Gates predicts a massive number of people will reject AI and choose to "live like the Amish."

Saints flew home from Paris 2-5, with 18 rushing yards and a bye week to stare at it. That is not a bad week. That is an evaluation. Same question I would ask a benefits plan after a bad year: what actually changes? What is your one fix?

Open enrollment tip most people miss: clicking through the screens is not enrolling. You are not done until you hit submit AND get the confirmation number. Half-finished elections do not save. Did you actually finish yours, or just start it?

54% of U.S. workers say they'd take a pay cut for more job security (Monster). Employers, read that twice. People aren't just chasing a bigger check. They want to know the job, and the health plan, will still be there next year. Stability is a benefit. Are you selling yours?

You Can See Everything cost about seven million to make. It's already pulled in twenty three point four million. At this rate, 2027 is going to have a thousand new Nathan Fielders.

Workers at small firms now pay $9,687 a year for family coverage. That's $2,847 more than at large firms (KFF 2026). How does your plan stack up? BenefitGrader.com now benchmarks it against the new national numbers. Get your free Benefits Snapshot: benefitgrader.com

New @KFF data: family health coverage through work now costs $28,303 a year. Workers pay $7,471 of it, up 9%, while total premiums rose 5%. Translation: more of the bill is landing on you. This open enrollment, compare total cost, not just the paycheck deduction.

Yesterday's KFF headline was the $28,303 premium. The sleeper number: the average deductible hit $1,995 — double 2011's $955. Now 38% of workers owe $2K+ before insurance pays a dime. Premium is the sticker, deductible is the real price. Which did you shop this open enrollment?

A new 8,300-person survey just split the workforce in two. 62% say AI makes producing work easier. But 48% received AI output that needed edits, and 34% admitted forwarding AI work they'd never read to the end. Same tool. Two workforces.

I've watched the same split in benefits for 25 years. Some employers consume their renewal quote — sign it, resent it, repeat. The conductors interrogate it: the claims, the fees, the trend. The carrier always benefits when you don't ask questions.

The tool is identical for everyone now. The gap is the person holding it. So here's the hiring question for 2026: are you building conductors — or collecting consumers?
