Pleased to announce that the TITAN-TBI trial is now open to recruitment, an early-stage study investigating whether the anti-inflammatory medicine tocilizumab can help reduce further brain damage after TBI. We are working with Cambridge CTU, aiming to recruit 60 patients!

A NEJM trial in ICU pts w acute resp failure found that mucolytics (carbocisteine & hypertonic saline) don’t help. My ICU rounds line “mucolytics are useless” may need an update: “and possibly harmful”

Define by lack of coronary perfusion. So you can tell time since arrest by changes in cardiac rhythm.
At 1 minute heart slows.
At 5 minutes bradycardia established.
At 10 minutes PEA.

In cardiac arrest, adrenaline reliably improves ROSC - but has not consistently translated into better long-term neurological survival.
