Derek Jeter played 158 postseason games and got 200 hits in them. Nobody in history has more, and it isn't close. His own teammate Bernie Williams has 128. Jose Altuve went into 2026 with 118. Jeter's October numbers basically add up to one extra season against the best teams in baseball. 200 hits, 111 runs, 32 doubles, and he scored more postseason runs than anyone ever has too.

We’re getting more evidence of shady activities happening from the clock operators/officiating crew in Provo by the hour. It’s the final 30 seconds of the game. Your finger better be firmly pressed on the button to stop the clock when someone goes out of bounds. Every second counts. Goodness gracious this is insane.

On Notre Dame’s final drive, there were multiple occasions where the clock ran longer than it was supposed to: • Out of bounds at 0:27, clock goes to 0:26 • Out of bounds at 0:17, clock goes to 0:15 BYU’s clock operator needs to be investigated.

He pitched in 802 games for Pittsburgh, the same number Walter Johnson pitched for Washington. Johnson started 666 of his. Face started 27. Same number, and about as different a road as two pitchers could take to get there. Johnson was a workhorse ace. Face was one of the first true relief stars.

The "Ichiro Girl" reunion in Seattle was perfect. Iris Skinner had gone viral after a 2010 foul-ball collision with Ichiro, then returned to throw a ceremonial first pitch during Ichiro Weekend in 2022. She had no idea Ichiro himself would be behind the plate to catch it. Twelve years later, a funny fan moment got a genuinely great sequel.
