I have, on two consecutive days, missed the last step whilst climbing down our stairs and landed badly on my leg. Is it possible to get the yips about navigating your own house?
I want to make a movie about Thomas Edison and call it “The Patent Trap”.

My mental illness doesn't give me permission to be an asshole, even on my bad days. It's an explanation, but it's not an excuse. Neither does yours.

I’m on a prepayment certificate from the NHS and all my prescriptions (I’m on two inhalers monthly) cost £10 per month. It’s possible, y’all. Also if you’re in the UK and have more than one regular prescription, get on this thing - even if it’s just a short amount of time! ✌🏻❤️
Today, one in four Americans who take prescription drugs struggle to afford them. Nearly 30% have skipped doses — or cut pills in half — because they can’t afford the cost. We have to change that. And we can.

Had a plumber in the house this morning, so I moved a fan to ventilate & then left it in the corner of the room. I’m apparently so desperately unhinged that @ccfowles’ first response was: “did you leave the fan facing the corner because you were afraid of it looking at you?” 🤪

Things that I don’t love during the week where climate disaster is major news: • Waking up in the middle of the night and having no water from the taps.
Hey doctors, if a patient shows up with a "kitchen sink" list of symptoms that gives you the impression they've scrutinized every inch of their body, it is because they're trying to help you do your job.

Been thinking about basic preventative COVID actions that individuals can have a greater degree of personal control over (e.g. mask wearing, social distancing) and the conversations around them. 🧵 1/5

It’s always “how can women act to be safer?” or “how can women avoid dangerous situations?”, and not often enough “how can we stop men from assaulting?” or “how can we help men do better?” 4/5

This fundamentally selfish and short-sighted worldview is so vocally represented and it’s no surprise we see it playing such a big part in the COVID conversation. We won’t act unless it directly benefits us. We cannot convince people to care about other people. Or can we? 5/end

The worst news: The IPCC confirms 1.5C will be breached. The bad news: Bringing the climate back under 1.5C could happen with a global revolutionary effort unlike anything before combining civil resistance & other tactics to stop all new fossil fuel infrastructure in its tracks.

For real. The first TV project I did had my name on the credits, appeared on a reasonably high profile channel, and had some decent traction yet I still didn’t earn enough to pay tax that year.

Watched Fargo (movie) for the first time since adulthood today, following introducing @ccfowles to The Big Lebowski for her premiere viewing last night, and it struck me just how much I love movies like this. Recommendations of Coen vibes please.
