Fifteen years ago, Chelsea Lately was one of the few successful female-led late-night talk shows on television. It was a show where everyone was fair game and no one was spared from being the punchline. What made it challenging was never knowing what was coming your way and having to think on your feet in the moment.
I was never afraid to give it right back, and I think that willingness to jump into the fray is what made me a regular on the show.
Looking back, it was a unique experience and an important chapter in my career. What I appreciate now is seeing how Chelsea has grown and evolved as a comedian. Her work today reflects a different perspective and a depth that goes beyond some of the humor that defined that era. Times change, people grow, and comedy evolves with them.
