With Byron Leftwich sidelined, Marshall’s championship hopes rested on Stan Hill. He answered with 4 touchdown passes and the game-winning score with 10 seconds left to beat Ben Roethlisberger and Miami (OH), 36-34.
The win kept the Herd in control of the MAC East race. Then the night got even crazier—the field filled with celebrating fans, emotions boiled over, and Miami’s defensive coordinator was arrested following a postgame altercation.
One of the wildest nights in the Marshall-Miami rivalry.
