Sci Fi Friday! This week's is different, because I think it's important to acknowledge the passing of two Star Trek icons, Sir Patrick Stewart and Walter Koenig. They enriched the series, and we'll always remember them. Rest well, and thank you. #scififriday

Sci Fi Friday! 1956s "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" blended horror and sci fi. After spores from space drop, people notice loved ones suddenly acting cold and emotionless. Dr. Miles Bennell (Kevin McCarthy) discovers the shocking reason why. #scififriday

Sci Fi Friday! 1965 had us on the edge of our seats with "Crack in the World." To tap the geothermal energy of magma beneath the Earth's crust, scientists fire a nuke into it. A crack forms, threatening to break up the planet. Can they stop it? #scififriday

Sci Fi Friday! 1983 saw the arrival of "V," a miniseries. Gigantic motherships appear around Earth, asking for our help, in return sharing their advanced tech. A journalist discovers the awful truth behind the human-looking Visitors. #scififriday

No Sci Fi post today, reflecting on 9/11...

Felt like posting this piece I did for "The Lost Crypt" for Frog God Games, written by my friend Bill Silvey, a.k.a. @A_DungeonDelver Have a great Friday Eve!

Sci Fi Friday! Everything on Mars wants to kill you! That was the message of 1960s "The Angry Red Planet." It used "Cinemagic," a process that tinted all Mars scenes red, with animation in a low budget debacle. Watch the bat/rat/spider/crab! #scififriday

Sci Fi Friday! In Ralph Bakshi's 1977 animated film "Wizards," twins Avatar (representing magic and the good faerie folk) struggles against Blackwolf (evil user of forbidden technology) in a post-apocalyptic/fantasy mashup. #scififriday

Sci Fi Friday! Before the TV series, 1961s "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" saw Walter Pidgeon as Admiral Nelson, trying to save Earth after the Van Allen radiation belt catches fire. Can the sub Seaview save us? With Barbara Eden, Peter Lorre. #scififriday

Sci Fi Friday! 1951s classic "The Thing from Another World" follows a group of scientists and Air Force men who discover a crashed UFO in the arctic. They find an alien in the ice that is accidentally unthawed, and must fight for their lives. #scififriday

Sci Fi Friday! In 1953s "The Magnetic Monster," 2 scientists investigate a radioactive element that grows geometrically by creating matter out of energy it absorbs from metallic objects. In 24 hours, it will knock Earth out of orbit! #scififriday
