Brilliant turnout in the UK organized by our friends at @GlobalJusticeUK to explain why excessive investor protections like ISDS need to stop being supported by governments - from Canada to Argentina to the UK and beyond!
Last week really showed us what a truly global movement this is. From rallies and stunts to webinars, teach-ins and open letters, people around the world sent one clear message over three days of action against ISDS: corporate courts have to go.
Watch footage from the UK and beyond, and hear our director explain why we're fighting a toxic system that threatens climate action and our future.

The right to strike is non-negotiable. We all want strong collective agreements, stable labour relations and reliable supply chains. Workers are Team Canada 🇨🇦 But you can’t build stability by weakening workers’ bargaining power. buff.ly/dhfoNnh

For years, CJPME has been sounding the alarm about the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement (CIFTA) - a trade agreement that extends preferential treatment to Israeli settlements and subsumes the occupied Palestinian territories under a Canada-Israel trade framework.
Our revised and updated report, Annexing Palestine Through Trade, examines how CIFTA effectively treats the occupied Palestinian territories and illegal Israeli settlements as part of Israel, despite Canada’s recognition of the State of Palestine and its official opposition to settlements. It argues that Canada’s trade policy is not neutral: it provides economic support for the settlement enterprise and facilitates the de facto annexation of Palestinian territory.
Amid escalating settlement expansion and settler violence, and on the heels of yesterday’s announcement by Canada, the UK, France, and 11 European countries of their intent to introduce restrictions on settlement trade, our report takes a deep dive into how economic and trade policies can function as tools that entrench occupation and apartheid, and what Canada must do to change course.
