I left my public high school after my sophomore season
It was the hardest and best decision I've ever made
Nobody from my first high school ever played D1 ball
The WRs at my new school went on to play at Alabama, Stanford, Michigan State, Buffalo, Yale (me)
Takeaway: Your high school might be the thing holding you back from getting recruited
Anyways, let's close the yearbook Mase...
I put something together for you to see how many players your high school has sent to college

I am beyond proud of this Stat. This is what DePaul Catholic is all about. If you want to play at the highest level and get the best education possible, the HS you choose matters. #SpartanTuff #GetDeveloped #BeASpartan
The Northeast high schools that sent the most players to college since 2022:
Choate Rosemary Hall (CT): 81
Bergen Catholic (NJ): 73
The Hun School (NJ): 73
St. Joseph's Prep (PA): 68
DePaul Catholic (NJ): 66
College coaches go back to the schools that have worked before.

A boundary cornerback is more than just the defender lined up to the short side of the field
From a scouting and coaching perspective, the position is built around leverage, discipline, communication and the ability to consistently handle outside coverage within the structure of the defense
The boundary naturally reduces space, but that does not make the assignment easy. The corner still has to defend vertical routes, back-shoulder throws, quick game, route combinations and contested catches while understanding where his help is and when the sideline can be used as an extra defender
When evaluating the position, I am looking closely at press technique, release control, foot quickness, transition ability, recovery speed, route recognition, eye discipline, ball skills and catch-point competitiveness
Physicality also matters, especially when dealing with bigger receivers, defeating blocks, supporting the run and finishing tackles in space
The exact responsibilities will always depend on the coverage, formation and defensive call. A boundary corner may be isolated on one snap and receive help on the next. That is why football intelligence and communication with safeties and underneath defenders are just as important as athletic ability
From a coaching standpoint, a dependable boundary corner gives the defense flexibility. When you trust that player to consistently execute his assignment, it can open up more options with safety rotations, pressure packages, matchup plans and coverage distribution

If you believe a private school “steals” players from public schools, you’re looking at the issue the wrong way.
Families make decisions they believe are best for their children. Coaches don’t own athletes. Schools don’t own athletes.
Instead of blaming other programs, focus on building a program that players want to be a part of.
That’s how you win.
