Wonderful to meet @AndyBurnhamGM to hand in 50 stories and pictures from #OurManchesterOurAir event, and agree the importance of publicly linking air pollution and long-term health impacts. This is the beginning of collaborative working with communities fighting for #CleanAir. @greatermcr

🙏@EllaRobertaFdn's tireless fight has been recognised.
We need that ambitious #CleanAir strategy @SteveReedMP. It's not so easy to see dirty air, but we're all breathing it.

The government apology marks an important moment in our fight to tackle the dangerous health impacts of air pollution on our nation’s children who are most vulnerable. While we welcome this statement from Ministers – now is the time for action, not words. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5yx…

Local leaders must show that they take this public health crisis seriously.
We need to see a plan that urgently brings levels of air pollution in line with World Health Organization guidelines, not just legal limits, to protect the health of local people.

Wondering if @BeeNetwork @officialtfgm can point me at up to date information on car parking in Manchester? Comparable with the chart below used by @MrPeteAbel and @foemcr to successfully resist temporary car park on Greater Ancoats Street (former retail park) @ManCityCouncil. – at Manchester, England

ALT Chart showing public car parking provision in key centre (Manchester) 2003 up to 2015-16. I guess this is in structures and surface car parks not at kerbside, but not sure. There is also a lot of private car parking provision muddying the water these days. Does anyone keep an up-to-date count of those spaces and their occupancy rate I wonder? The data for this chart was from TFGM as far as I know but their handing data feed with real time occupancy on many pubic car parks is not currently functioning.

Today, Asthma + Lung UK launch a clean air campaign centred around school playgrounds.
As someone who’s lived with asthma my whole life I know only too well how air pollution affects us all. Children especially are the most vulnerable to the impact of toxic air which can cause damage to their health for a lifetime.

Many apologists for Manchester's failure to build affordable housing have claimed that any supply increase helps, but the council's analysis is that because the new builds skew premium, building more flats is driving up prices even more! I asked about how to tackle this yesterday
